There's actually a community specifically for OpenCourseWare and similar sorts of free college lectures kind of content.

This is a huge series, and I've loved every moment of it. I am a layperson with a heavy interest in physical sciences, even since childhood. I had a very analytical mind even as a child but ended up deep in cs and tech starting late 70's.
I've watched many videos on chemistry and particle physics with a huge wad of astrophysics as well. The male influences in my life were heavy into atmospheric, material, and earth sciences so I was exposed at an early age.
All this to say, the reason I personally found this course so enriching is that it formally filled-in so many "blanks" that I was unaware I even had. And even though I previously understood the bulk of the content to some degree, it managed to logically order it all in my mind, and give me a completely new perspective, and a new framework to tie together so many concepts.
I also thought the main professor was incredible. I learned a lot about my own teaching methods just by watching how incredibly adept his was at both the communication and technical aspects of in-class teaching.
Even if you only have time for 1st video in the series, I heartily recommend to anybody interested in an accessible, yet meaningful dive into physics.
I got about 2 minutes into video 1 and my AI sensors started tingling.
Interesting that this is 5 hours of AI narration, where I can list ATLEAST 4 other videos with a)human narration, and b) visual video editing.
Why would you join the content creation club if you don't want to actually do the narration?
LLM-narration helps people sleep…? 🤨
I hate AI narration but for something that I don't expect to pay attention to I guess I could shrug it off. But it can't be so jarring that I lay there annoyed instead of sleeping.
Thing is, I feel there is no shortage of non-AI powered videos to fall asleep to. Or maybe I haven't listened close enough.
The grammar pedant in me is annoyed they're not called "The Beverlys Crusher" lol.
Then there's the Wesley Crushers
It takes 30 minutes for them to actually start playing the game. And then they... go to Sirius 🤣
This looks so much like me playing UQM for the first time! Awesomeness. I had forgotten how stupid the word "Navigate" was for that purpose.
...and then I see that tectonics is 6 and go "damn, they're about to get a VEEEERY cold shower!"
Didn't notice the temperature of over 1000°C before it became rather obvious. And then, the probe right after returning to hyperspace... Good thing there was no beer in my mouth at that moment 😂
You cannot really begin a game of SC2 much worse than this. Okay, maybe you could just fly over 5 fuel away from Sol. (Whatever system that is.)
