Good on him for walking it back, but you have friends that are LGBT and you still felt comfortable saying that stuff? Snoop can get his bag elsewhere because I won't support him again

meh knowing Snoop I'd take what he says with a grain of salt and see what sponsorships/deals he has coming up and if any are potentially backed or support the LGBTQ+ community

the mans opinions change based on where the cheques come from. If he did make this change in thought without any financial basis then good for him.

Apparently lol. After his previous stances, I thought no way is it real. It's like MTG fighting for the ACA. I was like, no fuckin way is this real. But 2025 yo. Everything is ridiculous, nothing is probable, everything is dangerous and wildly likely. Who fuckin knows at this point? I honestly wouldn't be surprised by flying scorpions at this point. Like you keep assuming it can't get worse but it always does. So fucking flying scorpions doesn't sound that far fetched anymore.

From one of the Related Articles :

“I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up, they been calling me with love,” Snoop Dogg wrote. “My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old 😳. Teach me how to learn I’m not perfect.”

Good on his friends for calling him in.

Whatever his reasons for "going woke", I prefer to see this route to the JK Rowling route.

Yeah, if we can't accept people changing their minds, then we will always lose everything every time.

This is exactly what we should be looking for...

    Grandad says something bigoted.

    Younger people educate grandad.

Grandad publicly acknowledges that he was wrong and gives others an opportunity for others to do the same?

How do you complain about that?

    Preach.

When people come around we have to respect it. Some jokes along the way are cool too especially here which is practically offline (small circle of friends).

Hopefully we can all remember a stupid view we once had and if we apply the Lucky 10,000 concept we know that we happened to be challenged on it when we were young. Someone was older when they started to see things more equitably? Welcome to the light side!

this isn't about love and acceptance. it's about marketing lmao. snoop said some shit he knew would get him in the headlines and now he's using that as an opportunity to plug his new TV show. he's been doing this for decades. maybe lgbt people are tired of their struggles being exploited for a chance to sell eyeballs to advertisers?

Being black and LGBT is really hard, and if the black community doesn't cancel him and maybe even listens, this is huge.

Oh come off it. Nobody in "the Black community" is listening to Calvin Broadus.

It's hella weird to act like "the Black community" needs to learn to be less homophobic from this wack 🥷🏾. I need you to look at the white community making drag shows illegal, burning books about queer people, and firing Black women while you're at it.

Americans have a problem with homophobia. Stop acting like Black people are singularly homophobic.

Judge someone by not just their past but their potential.

A dual edged sword. I would moderate that by saying whether they strive to work toward actualization of that potential, within the means available or presented to them.

    Nah, trust but verify.

Calvin Broadus is 53 years old and was famous before the turn of century. He didn't accidentally fall into Trump's campaign celebrations and he decided on his own to complain about gay people for no reason. If he didn't expect to catch push back for that then he can demonstrate a change, not just do a cameo and expect everyone to forget AAAALLL the shady shit he's done over the years.

Judge someone like you got some sense, not like their latest PR campaign is the gospel truth.

So for the Trump thing. He's rich and has been for decades. He wasn't always rich. Sometimes we need reminders of where we came from. That's exceedingly hard when everyone around you is highly likely to echo beliefs that may not resonate with how he was raised

For the LGBT thing.... I'm speaking from experience, the black experience is not the white one. Gay is very much not cool even if they say it is.

Speak for yourself, buddy. Being Black and Gay is Cool As Fuck.

The Black Experience is not the white one, but I never said it was, so I'm not sure why you're telling me what I already know.

Nothing you said suggests that we need to believe the latest press release is sincere. If Calvin wants to change his actions great. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up about someone who has already blown through several redemption arcs.

I am happy you are in an environment where being black and gay is cool as fuck. That is not the norm and I'd argue lots of statistics back that up.

Regardless, back in the topic I think we both agree just you're taking a pessimistic approach while I'm trying to be optimistic.

Our lived experiences certainly align and hope is so so important. I understand prime being suspicious, but we'll have to see. Also, giving room to grow in one area doesn't mean we think someone is perfect. And no one is perfect, there is always room for work on ourselves.

Uncle Tom has a different meaning. There are terms like Oreos, or coconut that imply a black person is black on the outside, but white on the inside, as in, they act white, but appear black. I can see how that could be perceived as racist.

Uncle Tom has a specific meaning a black person being overly deferential to, or appeasing white people, as a sellout to their own race. It comes from an old character in a book of a “virtuous” slave. It can also be used for any minority person complicit in their own groups oppression.

You sound MAGA making excuses for why its OK to round up brown people.

The actions of snoop, have nothing whatsoever to do with the colour of skin. You, and all the other racists, are making about his skin in a "no true Scotsman" fashion. Youre the same gaggle of cave brained cunts who bemoaned Carlton not being "black enough" back in the 90s because he liked Tom Jones.

Being a shitty person has NOTHING to do with the colour of someones skin. And if you think it does, well, you know what you are...

Its not really that we have differing definitions, mate. If that you see it as fine to be racist, and I dont. There is ZERO reason to bring his skin colour into the conversation. Yet here you all are. Double, and even tripling down on being racist as fuck.

This is the problem with echo chambers. You cant even see when youre being the very thing you hate.

There is always something to critique, huh? I think it's positive that he has changed his stance regarding LGBTQ+ and even made a children's song spreading the message that love is love. We need more inclusion, acceptance and tolerance in this society.

If Snoop is smart enough to spread a positive message and earn money at the same time, then good for him. At least he is trying to spread positivity to the world.

All he saw was his bottom line dropping and backpedaled.

Did you forget the Trump event he played at? 😂

That’s not someone who has goodness in their heart. He’s an opportunist and business man who is more likely to end up heading events in Dubai with Dave Chappell over doing something meaningful to spite the oligarchs that are actively seeking to kill LGBTQ+ individuals.
