So, I have been very into skirts since my junk grew back to pre hrt size, especially since I can't tuck day to day while trying for a baby, and skirts are genuinely saving me from constant dysphoria because I can make my very obvious bulge disappear. In this regard, they are magic.

I had an experience today that just, broke my brain a little bit. I ordered a garter belt because I got into thigh highs a little while ago, (I'm in my dressing like a slut phase okay?) and they do not like staying put, but it came with a mesh g-string I wasn't expecting. I tried it on and was shocked to find I could actually comfortably put things away in it, so it was approved for wearing. Anywhore, I wore the garter and g string as a surprise for my wife today, and put only a skirt on when I would normally wear shorts or leggings under a skirt, especially now that it's getting colder. I did not realize how much I rely on feeling the fabric on my butt to be able to trust that I'm covered! I had absolutely fuck all on my cheeks under my skirt, but it was impossible for anyone but me to know that because skirt! I thought a couple times I was showing something I hadn't meant to because I couldn't feel anything on my cheeks, but then remembered the skirt. It's like, I can dress however the fuck I want and show all the skin I want, but also look totally modest and not draw attention! The possibilities for being secretly dressed all sexy like with nobody knowing are limitless!

Skirts are rad, and I'm so glad I'm able to wear them!

skirts are, indeed, very fun :) i'm gonna be wearing one out all day tomorrow and am looking forward to it :3

kinkyi have thought about wearing more fun stuff under a skirt but latex can be very... squeaky if it adjusts itself and there isn't some other tight layer on top to dampen the sound...

I'm still figuring them out. I bought the Trans Starter Pack skirt a long time ago (with programming socks and a crop top, of course) and I felt like it was too elastic and not flattering on my body.

Now that I know what works and doesn't for me better, I've had my eye on this super long flared linen skirt for a while, so I'm looking forward to giving that one a try.

I love them, but they never hid things well enough for me, so I still had to tuck. I'm so happy post-op that no more tucking. It was so annoying and painful and I can wear all the things, though I still totally love skirts. I just hope to get FFS soon so I'll feel more comfortable looking that femme in more places.

I'm looking forward to thongs that don't need enough material to contain male genitals and not have a bulge. The wait list for bottom surgery has it a few years out for me even if having a baby happens quickly, but I definitely can't wait to go to Montreal when the time comes. I need to talk to my dr abouta referral for FFS because I found out I have 15k in coverage for gender affirming procedures from insurance and I want to find out what, if anything, that would cover.

That's cool, I'm in the US, so I'm kind of in a rush since insurance is likely to drop coverage soon and I'm getting too old to outwait the political climate to reverse that. But basically each year I'm hitting my out of pocket maximums, so with premiums and out of pocket I've been paying about $20-25K/year the last 2 years, next year will be closer to $30K since they raised premiums and OOP max on all the plans. And that doesn't cover any travel cost. So far I've spent about $15K on travel to San Francisco the last 2 years since it was either that or wait 5 years for bottom surgery in my city which is not small, but totally overwhelmed.

I'm hoping for FFS next year and for it to only take one round as well as revision I need for the vocal surgery that had complications earlier this year so I don't have to do another $30k+ in 2028. Also hoping I don't get laid off and lose insurance since that's so common these days, especially in my field. Considering the bottom surgery alone was around $400K and revision another almost $200K I'd never afford any of it without insurance. But since we have an "employer funded plan" rather than real health insurance, my employer does know every so single procedure I get and how much they spent on it, so I am a little afraid they'll use that to calculate how much I cost them to employ since that's not uncommon here these days even if likely illegal, but no way to enforce due to legal trickery of shell companies and self funded plans and decades of defunding of the EBSA at the federal level which is the only agency with jurisdiction over "employee benefits" if they aren't "insurance" for the employee and only that the benefits are backed by company held insurance policies.

Anyway, that has me in a rush to get things done, but I'm loving the results despite some complications, the annoyance of dilating, and fighting for coverage.

I feel so fucking awful talking about my difficulties transitioning when I've had it so goddamned easy. Americans talking about their insurance blows my mind because hrt, laser on my face, neck, chest and back, bottom surgery and voice training among a few other things are covered by public healthcare here, so I just have to ask for it and wait while y'all have to game the system and pray your job doesn't go away. You sound like you can afford multiple surgeries that my budget won't permit and aren't covered, so I envy you that.

Nah you shouldn't feel bad about expressing your struggles just because someone else has it worse. That's how they convince people to give up what little they have. Healthcare should be free and paid for by taxes no question. It's exactly the type of thing that requires collective resources and benefits everyone. And it benefits people even if they don't use it because having healthy coworkers and neighbors makes your job easier and keeps you healthier. I hate that it is always treated as a personal problem rather than a societal one.
