Feels like they’ve only done this because GOG restored the Wing Commander series.

    I have the feeling it wasn't a discovery of physical media vault. I think they discovered how to update the games with Ai to resell them again. I am not against it, BTW. I just do not believe them.

    From the GOG store page for Privateer2 (and presumably the rest of them)

    Source Master FMVs - In 2024, the complete Source Master tapes were discovered by the game's original Cinematics Director. These tapes have been digitized and meticulously re-edited frame-by-frame to restore the over 100 FMV scenes, and integrate them back into the game.

    I was disappointed when I found GOG had Ultima titles, they were the old IBM CGA versions, with ugly gfx and bad or no music. Why didn't they license the Atari or Amiga versions and just bundle with an emulator?

    ..and yeah, fuck EA. Never give them a nickel, most of those can be found on the High Seas, I bet. Yaar.

    Obligatory "fuck EA" but this is good news for Wing Commander and Ultima fans.

    I hope they get ported to Mac and Linux without DRM, though.
