James can come out with some of the funniest lines.

Clarkson and Hammond are hilarious in their antics, but May's humor is often genuinely clever. The older I've gotten the more I've come to appreciate his dry, sarcastic way of speaking.

Deadpan IMO is the best kind of humour.

Though I just realised that it's kinda like puns except applying it to phrases and ideas instead of just words with multiple meanings. It's all about the edge cases around communication, pointing out things that are implied, or assuming things that aren't implied, deliberately misidentifying pronouns, switching subject and object of sentences if the structure allows it.

Not that there's anything wrong with puns, it was just an interesting realization.

I'm not getting anywhere near a hippo without a secure place to retreat to in case of danger.

Asking Hammond which seat they leave in in his muscle car is one of the best I've ever heard.
