Hi everyone! I recently switched from Reddit and I'm still getting used to Lemmy.

I'm looking for an Android client that feels as close as possible to the Reddit experience: a clean feed, smooth gestures, easy community switching and strong user expirience.

I've seen many options (Voyager, Thunder, Jerboa, Summit, Raccoon, Interstellar) and I'm not sure which one to pick. Open source is a plus for me.

What do you use, and why? Any pros and cons from daily use would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

I use boost. I used boost on Reddit, so it was very easy to switch

    Try Jerboa, Raccoon, Summit...

    Personally I use Jerboa.

That's actually actively developed, boost. It's the last of the old apps that's still maintained for lemmy. Sync still exists, but the dev is essentially gone. Eternity is a renamed version of infinity, but hasn't been updated in ages.

Summit is amazing overall, if not exactly the same vibe as the reddit apps that existed at the time of the api exodus. Connect is great too. Thunder deserves a mention, though both connect and thunder tend to be a tad less visually pleasant than summit.

Voyager is pretty much the go to ios style app.

  • I use Voyager. The interface was relatively simple and it was very easy to get up and running

I recently did this and went with thunder. I don't recall all the reasons it beat the others. I know it's free open source without monetization and has active development. Seems to work pretty well so far I'm not looking for alternatives.
