Mm well you're a toy bee. Toys can't even talk so shut up

And if you aren't a toy bee then guess what I eat you cuz I am mantis, and mantis eats bee

So many people (and mantises, I guess) make incorrect assumptions based on my username.

Granted, they're usually - though not always - about Jupiter. Admittedly this take is a new one.

Idk what your username has to do with Jupiter. Astrology thing?

It is difficult for me to determine whether you are asking in earnest, but just in case, most people guess that my username was inspired by the toynbee tiles. It was not; I didn't learn of them for some time after I chose this name. (Apparently one person added a user tag to my name saying "not the tiles" after we had a similar conversation.)

When people do make that guess, they seem to enjoy demonstrating their knowledge of the subject, including that it exists, sometimes even explaining to others. So in this case I referred to them obliquely in case you wanted to show off any knowledge you might have on the matter.

Occasionally people have nicknamed me "bee" but I don't think anyone has ever called me a "toy bee" before. Sometimes people decide my real name must be "Tony," but it is not.

No I genuinely had no idea what a toynbee was

This looks like really fascinating stuff though, thanks for choosing to assume that it was an earnest question. I'm autistic and get misunderstood easily

Not a problem. I'm glad I could provide edification.

If the wiki article and whatever other resources you seek out don't satisfy your curiosity, there's also at least one documentary on it. I think I watched it on Hulu in the US, but it may no longer be there, as that was over a decade ago.

"I'm here for the loneliness, please."

"The gathering just ended. Everyone's leaving."

    "Perfect!"

"No, I'm not lonely, I'm just here for the Combat. They said there'd be Combat. Where's the Combat?"

I was genuinely confused until I saw the community's name. I thought it was a joke but I didn't understand the time format for the loneliness event.
