It's not really satire. It's snarky but poignant, though I think there's something to be said about letting people celebrate.

It's the day after the election. It's okay to breathe a sigh of relief. The new Congress isn't even sworn in, yet. We can worry about the next stage of work once we have the right people to work with.

With respect, You should worry now. I think the whole point of the article was disagreeing with lazy Americans who think we get to “breath.”

Taking time to celebrate is not a rejection of the work to come. Throwing cold water on everyone not even 24h after winning is like a boss reminding their employee to be on time the next day, at the employee's birthday party.

You can celebrate. You can take a sigh of relief. And also, there is more work to come after that.

ETA: taking time to celebrate is a ritual practice that galvanizes the moment and marks these important moments in our psyches. Refusing to do so is missing out on a wonderful and powerful biological mechanism humans possess.

Don't you write these? If so, wdym you "think" the point is?

Yes, I wrote it. I also use ‘I think’ when I know something. It’s a fairly common feature of conversational English.

When defending an article that you intend to be taken seriously, it's pretty fucking weird to say you think you know what the point is. You wrote it, you know what the point is. Just say it, don't hedge it.
