This is most likely going to be downvoted into the ground, and if you're new here, you might be confused as to why, so let me help you:

  • Nobody likes accounts created specifically for the purpose of self-promotion. I don't know why people still insist on doing this. It's basically an advertisement, even if it's an advertisement for a free product - nobody wants to see advertisements. Your whole account (as of this time) is a walking advertisement. At least you didn't name it CollectarrDev or something stupid like that, so you've got that going for you, which is nice.

  • You're pro-AI, which is just a generally unpopular stance around here to put it lightly.

If you aren't new here, then shame on you, you should know better, and you're getting what you deserve. Post on your main account, you coward.

TBH i don't think most of the criticism you're getting is based on assumptions or trolling. Did you even read the README and other documentation? There's a lot of placeholder content and it shows that very little effort was actually made. You say you used AI as a tool, but from the commits, it looks like AI did all the work and there wasn't even much supervision or review of work being done.

How do you expect others to be able to contribute and form a community to support this project? What plans do you have if you can not afford the AI credits to continue developing this project. What do you expect people to do if you must abandon this project?

If you're intending this for only AI agents to use this, then yeah I guess a README and documentation isn't necessary, but the reason you're posting this here is for people to buy in and start using this in their day to day lives. Nothing you've presented gives any confidence that this project will be maintained a year from now assuming you decide to give up the project or Claude changes it's TOS and refuses to write code for these kinds of projects.

You are attempting to distribute software without even following the basics of software development (like creating a changelog). By all means vibecode for personal projects to your hearts content. But if you're going to have other users than yourself, at least do the bare minimum.

  • You say that, and then you shamelessly self-promote and dump a cuck-coded repo on us and sing its praises. You have done zero contribution to our community to establish your technical aptitude, let alone make a positive difference to the community itself.

The fact that you are baffled by this reception is honestly hilarious. Pull your sanctimonious head out of your ass.

but at the end of the day these communities I’ve posted to are exactly for this so I don’t see a problem with it

If you were a user with some post history to establish yourself here, who had participated in these communities previously, either as a poster or a commenter, had gotten to know the demographic that resides here, and who had then posted about your own project, you'd have gotten a very different reception (well, maybe not, because of the AI opinions, but you at least wouldn't have gotten shit on for the self-promotion). That's not what you did. You created an account and immediately came to advertise your vibe-coded app. It might be a quality product, but nobody here knows you, you have no history, and you're shilling slop, so that's what we're assuming it is. Nobody's going to touch it.

Also, if you do want to participate here long-term, maybe research the instance you're signing up on and make sure you agree with what they promote, because the instance you choose immediately creates a preconceived perception of you.

    Thanks for your work.

It really feels like the end of software projects, proprietary or open, since anyone can recreate basically any software alone, in a short amount of time. I think this marks the end of the licensed proprietary software business model.

You know, I was convinced AI software would never be able to build big complex software projects because of its rather sloppy coding style, but times have clearly changed.

I also worry if the situation turns clone hostile. Just this week, there was an article of somebody reverse engineering their samsung tv using AI(claude I think?), and then they got banned from it! And also this week, Anthropic added a new rule to their harness that disallowed replicating existing games. If this continues, we dont need lawmakers to make this sort of endevour next to impossible. So I suppose: Build it, while they let you!
