Maybe it's because I don't drink alcohol but I don't have fun when I'm around drunk obnoxious people, loud cheap music while being annoyed by some guy I'm not interested in while also being watchful that he doesn't drug me and rape me WHILE ALSO trying to keep an eye on my friends so they don't get raped either.

Then I have to be the babysitter of my drunk friends while one is vomiting and now we have to take her home 🫩

Stay strong ❤️

In my case, it's everything you said PLUS social anxiety and self doubt. 🤮

Fuck that, parties aren't safe anymore with how prevalent rape culture is. If over 50 people can ignore the Cornell gang rape, a party full of people won't intervene in rape either.

yeah I never liked them that much. Like drinking with a group where everyone knows everyone. like a small party. that can be fun but when its kinda like a nightclub without the dancing its like meh. or con parties. thats fun to.

I want to enjoy parties and raves... But I don't. Too loud, and drunk people always seem to find new ways of making me uncomfortable.

I feel this. There's one person in our friend group specifically who gets drunk quite easy, is usually often drunk, and usually a nuisince in some way. At least to me. But other friends don't seem to mind for some reason, even one who has told me several times how she doesn't like/is bothered by drunk people. But for some reason we're supposed to tolerate this one 🤷 and she's also the one who usually wants to party/go for drink when she's already drunk and others were thinking of going home

It's unfortunate that attending parties is mandatory until you're 30 when you get the party exemption licence in the mail. After that parties are optional and way more fun.
