If a company ever tells you they’re expecting revenue on par with the entire US GDP, its a good time to ask for some of whatever theyre smoking. Cause it must be some really good shit

Just quick mental math here. If they had every person on earth to pay them a $5 annual subscription. That’d be $30B in revenue, $50 a year $300B, $500 $3T, $5000 $30T.

So they plan on charging every person on earth $5k? Get real

Now it can afford to put datacenters in space. It'll utilize enough solar panels to blot out the sun. Woohoo! We're finally going to get our ice age!

From my own experience, Qwen 3.8 running on a gaming PC with OpenCode desktop leaves no reason to use Claude for individual use, and there are also several open weight models approaching Fable quality. Anthropic’s main value at this point is that they offer a turn-key SaaS solution, but hosted providers for open weight models are cheaper. Unless you’re paying for Anthropic’s expensive enterprise plan, your data is Anthropic’s to do with as they please, and their clients are closed source, so I’m sure they’re a privacy nightmare. Who’s going to be paying them this $30 trillion for what is largely becoming a commodity at this point?

    Edit:

Plus, I can barely understand a fucking thing Claude says with it’s weird, overly complex language, compared to Qwen’s clear and concise explanations. Anthropic also took away the ability to read Claude’s thinking, so I can’t read it and better understand how it arrived at a conclusion. It’s just a big black box now. Overall, it’s not really the “premium” solution it’s hyped to be and open weight models are superior in many respects beyond just being private.

  • You could try 12ft Ladder -- looks like the .io site went down but first result when I searched the web was "5 alternatives that work" from a tech-focused website. I personally wouldn't bother since the OP didn't actually provide a source other than the WSJ's homepage.
