Well you obviously understand the situation better.

Why do you think that wasn't the case?

In short, we were friends for a long time and are now friends for a even longer time. I know him good enough to understand how he acts. He is VERY smart and not impulsive. He is extremely successful. He has no reason to be jealous and he has never shown me any jealousy to anyone.

He was supposed to go to a foreign nation and city for studying and I always wanted to go there. He wanted to see it a bit as a tourist too. So we went together for a week and then he would stay there for a couple months. The other people were his future study mates. The girl texted me the message and he gave her my number.

So if he wanted to improve his chances with the girls, my friend's game plan would needed to be:

    1. Add guy to a group as your friend
    2. Shittalking said friend to the group, because he help 1 girl.
    3. Give girl his phone number
    4. Said friend leaves country
    5. ???
    6. Profit

The girls are surely impressed when you add a creep to the group and calm him your friend that you travel with. The girls surely are impressed by you betraying your friend.

None of it makes sense. If he would betray me, it would be better thought out.

Additionally, he has a type (similar to me tbf) and he went to a country filled with his type and he would compete with me over women that were also foreigners in that country and not his type, nor mine?
