This dish takes like 30 minutes, is cheap, and super delicious. It's sold in tons of places in Thailand, even the 7-Elevens have it heated up. Works well as leftovers, and if you use sticky rice, you don't even need utensils (you shape the rice into utensils).

Delicious and we eat it often. We do not have holy basil where I live, so I use regular basil to make Krapao, so it is probably just called Pao? I do get hom mali rice and all the original Thai brand condiments imported from our local EU distributor.

It's pretty different, so maybe a leafy green instead? Like spinach?

I do like spinach, but I love it with normal basil anyway.

It is often advised to use regular Basil by Thai youtube cooks (and to not use Thai basil). I do get Thai basil here but that tastes very different from normal basil.
