This is referencing the Artemis II mission. It got a lot of really stunning pictures of the moon.

I don't know if NASA officially did it themselves, but a lot of people boosted the color of the pictures to highlight the various mineral compositions of the moon's surface.

The probabilty that this incredibly niche store would be open in the exact time, this comic was drawn, is so unbelievably small. I think there's a much bigger probability that the bottle and jar society would have pizza sauce hookers and/or strippers, ready for express delivery, and that they're currently having a sale.

It’s a mall that also has outlet stores (based on the lid outlet), so maybe it was only there temporarily as the comic was being drawn.

That sounds like a too narrow market. It'd be like having a store that only sells clothes to shorthaired brunette women. There's no way it'd be able to stay open in a mall og shopping district.
