People need to fight against this gov. At the same time, commenting on these registry postings does fuck all. The comments against the bike lane removal bill were massive and persuasive. The Ford gov still gets away claiming people want this

As a resident in this place, it won't happen. Not because it's a bad idea, and not because it's dangerous.... Grid tie solar like this is only really interesting (aka, something you want to do) to offset your electrical costs, so it's only really interesting for lower or middle classed people....

All the people with lobbying power, who would never benefit from this.... You know, the ones who long since bought and paid for the various branches of the government, and have the MPs on speed dial..... They don't want this because it will "look ugly". They'll use all their power and clout to stop this before it becomes a thing, just so they don't have to look at it when they look down on us.

When you feed into the grid, your power has to match the frequency and phase of what on the grid.

If the grid is down, your solar system has nothing to match to and will not send power into the grid.

It's a progression. Wynne was worse than McGuinty, Ford's worse than Wynne, the next one will be worse than Ford. And someone will come along and say the same thing about them that you're saying about Ford, which is the same thing that was said about Wynne, McGuinty, Harris, etc.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about solar backfeeding into the grid. There's a lot of safety regulations to get right, and I wonder how it works in a mains power outage? Are all the lines partially electrified with everyone's solar?

What people can do right now, is install solar with a battery, and instead of making the extra energy the power company's problem, you just draw less power from the wall instead.

With a battery alone you can also take advantage of time-of-use billing if you charge it up at night when there's excess grid capacity.

While I agree with you, Canada's history isn't exactly full of times that modern Canadians rebelled against injustice by their government (except for the indigenous people) and extracted wins.

It was more often than not a peaceful protest, the government cracked down hard, and that's about it.

I hope they always keep their love and support for all the letters. They could do it a little better tbh. That poor gay indigenous kid out there should have someone in power giving a fuck about him. God knows Conservatives never will.

They also gotta remember all the other issues as well. They need to highlight the issues of the workers instead of letting christian nationalists pull them into culture wars.

This country even elected an evangelical christian prime minister who was forced to swear never to touch abortion and marriage equality. Is there room for improvement? Sure. Majority of the country is overall better than it used to be. For now, cost of living and housing has to be their focus otherwise they are not winning and forming government any time soon.

@MisterD I'm all for plugin solar, but I can't sign 3rd party petitions that harvest personal details. I would sign the federal one if/when it reaches the parliamentary petitions site.
