Well find someone saying that and comment under them. IMO caring enough to ask does not have the negative impact you're conflating. I'm fully disappointed in your response. You need to learn to make your point better.

Is there a way to create a class that is open to all people call it perhaps a land steward, they live mostly off the land if possible(I’m not even sure) and follow in the steps of indigenous folk of taking care of the land and balance?

. So when conversations about mines and pipelines occur, it is very difficult for non-indigenous laymen such as myself to know who is the legitimate representatives.

One thing I dont like or trust though is people saying: because there is a fight internally over chiefs versus elections, we should maybe invalidate their voice as a whole. You are not directly saying it, necessarily. But its what impact your message has.

There is a layer of obfuscation at play here. Because there are traditional chiefs and elected chiefs for many given territories. It's not consistently clear who speaks to the actual interests of the indigenous peoples and who is catering to corporations for personal gain.

A lot of people's in BC never ceded territory or signed treaties. So when conversations about mines and pipelines occur, it is very difficult for non-indigenous laymen such as myself to know who is the legitimate representatives.

I think the faith indigenous communities have built is with the crown and courts. The crown has found it cheaper to access resources by making deals the last decade or so. The courts have been piling precedent after precedent about treaties being deeply constitutional.

The people, I suspect indigenous Canadians are still wary of.

Short-time thinking on Eby (and NDP) part. They toyed with proportional representation, they should've stuck to their remaining 2yr mandate, get proportional representation and save us all the embarrassment. Also BC NDPs leaned so far right they were past 2000's Liberals to the right... so I guess it's time for them, like for Dems down south to do some soul searching and find their roots.

As an Albertan, I have nothing but sympathy for you. I would, however suggest looking back with regret isn't going to help much. You need to start building up NGO networks to start building parallel services for the sick, the elderly and the kids. They will come for health and education services first. It's their standard playbook. Organize like your life depends on it, because eventually, it will.

Sad to say i called this.

I dont live in BC or Canada anymore but i was visiting in september and i have a freind who is deeply involved and interested in local politics so he knew days ahead that an election was being called.

He was pretty excited and said this was a smart move as the conservatives were in shambles. I only really follow international politics so i reminded him of Teressa May, and other snap elections that backfired. But he wouldnt hear it.

The average person doesnt know and doesnt care what state the party is in, or even what the platforms are. Most people vote like theyre backing a sports team and politicians are stupid when they think otherwise. Sure people rally around the flag when under threat like with Carney, but when the person to rally behind was the one to piss everyone off by being an egotistical shithead it kills peoples motivation to vote.

I hope people vote for damage control, but i think our only real hope is the conservatives keep infighting and lose their majority. Are they antivaxxers, climate change deniers, racists, or maple maga? That should cause some of them to flip independent and then hopefully people can find a reason to call by-elections for their seats.

The real lesson here is to back proportional representation. But the NDP wont because they are a shoe-in for a majority next election if the conservatives can hold it together for 4 years.

Edit: just saw the results, yeah i dont think enough of them will flip independent to make a difference.. Bad time to be thinking about moving home..
