It's not solved. This is just another possibility. This is too vague to be called solved yet.
Eternal Star
We hope so
Can you just tell me what it sais rather than link a video?
Glad to hear it worked
I tested your solution on Uncharted 1 (before crashing) and Gran Turismo 5 and it worked! Thank you so much!
I’m gonna update the original post in case someone is also looking for a solution!
I’m so relieved!
It's available for Linux, but you have to build it...
https://github.com/Redrrx/ps3dec
How exactly did you download for the .net library?
wine PS3Dec.exe d key D0EDC4A8BD2C97322B175B72536E8AB6 test.iso output.iso
I'm running wine from terminal that I opened from the directory I extracted the ps3qdd zip into and added renamed game iso (test.iso) d key part is needed then the string is game specific, you can find them on the page you were downloading from before, just open key in text editor and copy. Then the file you want to decrypt then whatever you want to name.
Running from terminal should either work or spit out an error that should help solve things.
Try sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
Sudo apt update
Sudo apt install wine32
Could you please walk me through what you're doing with Wine step by step? I know it's a lot, but you would be a life saver in a way 😇
Well I managed to get a windows VM running and decrypt the files, but it was then impossible to export the files at a reasonnable speed (3 hours to write 30 gb/s on a USB stick so I gave up). Having a shared file through the Spice tools didn't work as the file would stop copying at 99% and using something like Localsend to send it to another device doesn't work as the VM was using a virtual network and not a real wifi..
I'm kind of desperate to find a way out of this situation..
This (https://github.com/13xforever/ps3-disc-dumper/releases/download/v4.5.1/ps3-disc-dumper_linux_v4.5.1.zip) seems perfect but I can't get direct disk access on Fedora Silverblue despite following the instructions. I then tried to install Cdemu (https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/rok/cdemu/) or Acetone (https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/AcetoneISO/AcetoneISO/) but I keep bumping into difficulties..
Ps3 Disc Dumper was so easy to use on Windows and it's so frustrating that exporting the files was the problem, especially when the Linux version should be as easy to use..
Windows VM? Was able to convert files for the PS3 through that already, though never tried decrypting specifically.
I feel kind of stupid but I've installed Wine and Winetricks and I can't get the program you proposed to work.
I've also tried with WineCharm, Winezgui and Play On Linux 4...
At one point it kind of told me that it was because off a missing .net 6.0.32 library but I struggle to do anything with it after downloading it..
If I really have to, I’ll just create a Windows 10 virtual machine in Gnome boxes, but I’d want to avoid it😇
So I downloaded Adventure time CD to folder
For wine
wine PS3Dec.exe d key D0EDC4A8BD2C97322B175B72536E8AB6 test.iso output.iso
Flatpak
flatpak run --command=bottles-cli com.usebottles.bottles run -b "MyBottle" -e "$PWD/PS3Dec.exe" -- d key D0EDC4A8BD2C97322B175B72536E8AB6 "$PWD/test.iso" "$PWD/output.iso"
Can probably be cleaned up, I consulted ai for the bottles/flatpak issues but it works
I use wine not bottles, but I'll see if I can get it to work in there, you use the flatpak?
Thanks but for now I can't get it to work through Bottles as I'm using Linux.
Yeah good point, Eden is kinda the only one that matters right now anyway.
"Illegal cryptographic keys" = "illegal numbers"
When I heard about this, i instantly downloaded Eden emulator. They have their own website and repository, so Nintendo cannot just misuse DMCA there.
Edit: Still playing with Yuzu. Its probably time to move on. Ryujinx was problematic back then, BTW.
we really need stuff like https://radicle.dev/ to get more popular for git hosting
I think their goal is simply to force enough of it deeper underground that legit distributors (Steam, package managers, etc) won’t touch it and normal people will give up and buy the hardware instead of jumping through an increasing number of hoops to emulate.
They can’t stop it, but they can make it a frustrating end-user experience, and that’ll be enough to put a lot of people off.
Console gaming the way it exists now has one, maaaaybe two generations left. I don't think Nintendo has a choice at this point but to fight interoperability tooth and nail for as long as they can.
I don't understand how they think they're ever going to stop open source software with lots of community interest from being developed and distributed. All they're doing is hurting their own reputation
Yo, were using that for AI training! Its ok now
Been looking for something like this for RetroDECK! Thanks!
