I was coming at the story from the rice shortage angle, but yes, food shortages do raise prices on food ingredients.

Although the respectable thing for Kellogg would have been to stop making it entirely.

People are complaining about the new formula Riceless Krispies.

Maybe it'd be better if we didn't all buy the same products the world-over from the same megacorps, especially food.

If the UK can't grow rice, then they shouldn't have Rice Crispies. Food security starts at home.

I mean no one should eat that crap anyway, but that's a point aside.

It's actually horrifying when you think there are places in the world where rice is the staple carbohydrate.

That means that starvation is coming to those parts that can't afford it during the coming shortage.

It's not some 'political lottery' inherent in the system. It's abhorrent taxation without representation from one scumbag fascist man-child and a whole system of enablers and acolytes who represent the detestable, thoughtless, ugliness of truly worthless, heartless bastards.

Which unlike just about everything else on Chinese social media obviously isn't censored, because papa need his tiger-testicles and rhinoceros-horn powder... for, um, "vitality".

Historically, they have done terrible things to each other. Reparations will stretch back right to the beginning, with compensation for land stolen, terrorist attacks on each, on and on. Don't think the last few years is all there ever was.

That may come in time, after a two state solution has been successful and trust has been established, then they may unify. Baby steps, but to push them all together now...

Reparations: that's going to be paid by both sides, who have done terrible things to each other.

Just as planned. Make Gaza completely unlivable and slowly move in and take it piece by piece.

I will always support a two state solution, for that to work though, both sides need to realise compromise is needed, severe compromise, and that's not going to happen from the Israeli side without massive international pressure. However that won't happen, because the Gulf States do not like the Palestinians, and the US will never drop its support, and the rest of the world is too weak to do anything about it.

To my understanding Middle East Monitor is not echoing Israel's propaganda. Check out their About page:

The use or misuse of information is central to the conflict in the Middle East. There has been a growing need for supporters of, in particular, the Palestinian cause, to master the art of information gathering, analysis and dissemination. This requires well organised, focused and targeted operations. Such initiatives are virtually non-existent in the West today. (...)

That said, if you know something that contradicts their claims, please share a link.

Declaring a public health emergency of international concern would enable an equitable response rooted in the principles and ethics of public health: care and support for those most affected; large-scale prevention; and surveillance of impacts. It would enable international collaboration, catalyze finance and ensure central coordination and support from the WHO.

Yep, and that's precisely why it'll never happen. Equity, ethics, public health, care, support, collaboration? What are we, communists?

There might have been truth to the bounce back theory if it was indeed just single species disappearing ~naturally (over-predation is a possible natural problem) rather than entire ecosystems being systematically destroyed for profit.
