AI existed long before Big AI. Even if there was no profit incentive, it would still be useful for academic research, physics research, language studies, etc.

LLMs were invented in 2017 (as an improvement upon RNNs from 2014) but for-profit Big AI companies didn't really exist until 2022.

Note: OpenAI came out with GPT-3 (175 billion parameters) in 2020 but at the time it was still a non-profit company. That year was the point where Big Money decided to invest heavily into AI.

I mean at the base of the spine. Also, women's ischial tuberosities are farther apart and the weight distribution is completely different. This means that ideal ergonomics for women require narrower, contoured upper back rests as well as a lumbar pad due to that deeper, inward curve at the base of the spine.

Hence why ergonomic chairs are so configurable.

The reason is allegedly the software, which has not yet been finalized, while the hardware is said to be ready for market already.

Hah! Absolutely fantastic robotic arms capable of folding laundry have been around for decades. Of course the software is going to be the roadblock! It's the same roadblock that's been there since robotic arms.

They probably have labs full of robotic arms and every type of laundry imaginable. Inside, there's engineers lamenting, "why can't we just support towels and call it a day? Who even wrote these requirements‽ Nobody folds their underwear!"

Hah! How about this: So they don't end up injuring themselves.

There's a reason why ergonomic chairs exist and why they all follow the same exact design rules (to varying degrees).

Most important features, in order of importance:

    1. Adjustable arm wrests. Height is more important than swinging out/in. The out/in feature is more for convenience of getting them out of the way on occasion than anything to do with ergonomics.
    2. Adjustable height. The base of which all ergonomic chairs were developed.
    3. Adjustable lean. Meaning: You can control how far back it tilts.

Also important: Men and women have different ergonomic requirements! A woman's spine is curved and should not have the chair configured the same as a man.
