Same here for mailbox. I left tuta mostly due to their shitty spam filtering, weird billing, and the hard requirement of only being able to manage emails through their app(s).

The inability to add my own pgp always irked me as well. Now I got that with mailbox, and I can use whatever mail app of my choice.

I'm a senior full stack dev, 22 years into it. I lost my job 16 months ago due to federal funding cuts killing a project I was specifically hired to build.

I have landed a total of 5 interviews since then. Rejected or ghosted. I've stopped tracking the number of applications/resumes I have submitted, but as of this past July, it was close to 150.

I think my time in this line of work is done. I'm looking at finding a different type of work that isn't so completely fucked up from AI and the (very public) fascist takeover of the open source ecosystem.

I'll still code, but it'll be on my terms. No AI, no deadlines. Just like how it started for me a long time ago.

after 15 years, iOS has finally caught up with all the main android features, such as

    • very mid ui design
    • kinda floaty feeling
    • unpolished vibe android itself has progressed little, although it is rapidly achieving feature parity with iOS on "locked down user hostility". overall both ecosystems look very appealing, energetic, and healthy, for shareholders

A screenshot of a toot on Mastodon. I have copied and pasted the text by the Mastodon user in the body of this Lemmy post.

DigitalOcean joins as a Founding Corporate Patron with $3 million

DigitalOcean is joining the Omacom Foundation as a Founding Corporate Patron, contributing $1 million a year for three years! That’s a $3 million commitment to the development, maintenance, and spread of Omarchy. What an incredible vote of confidence in the beautiful, fun & agentic OS we’re building.

The body of this post contains the same text that is in this image

This is for U.S. users. I linked to their Terms of Service for full text. You have to contact them via info on that page to opt out, however, this lovely popup doesn't let you proceed until you click the pretty blue button.

    TLDR (Arbitration text):

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SECTION D.12 BELOW CONTAINS AN ARBITRATION AGREEMENT THAT APPLIES TO ALL USERS LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES. PLEASE READ SECTION D.12 CAREFULLY.

THE ARBITRATION AGREEMENT PROVIDES, WITH LIMITED EXCEPTIONS (WHICH ARE LISTED IN SECTION D.12(a)), THAT YOU AND INDEED: (1) WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO PURSUE DISPUTES AGAINST EACH OTHER OR OTHER USERS THROUGH BINDING, FINAL ARBITRATION; (2) WAIVE ALL RIGHTS TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A DISPUTE ON A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE BASIS; AND (3) WAIVE ALL RIGHTS TO PURSUE DISPUTES IN A COURT OF LAW AND TO HAVE A JURY TRIAL.

AS A JOB SEEKER, YOU MAY OPT OUT OF THE ARBITRATION AGREEMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION D.12(k) BELOW.

Screenshot of the popup when I tried to view a job. The text on the popup says the following: Please be sure to review our updated Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please note that these Terms include a newly updated Arbitration Agreement. The Arbitration Agreement includes a class-action waiver. This means you agree to resolve any disputes related to your use of Indeed or its vendors through binding arbitration rather than in court. The Arbitration Agreement also explains how to opt out of arbitration and the deadline for doing so after accepting these Terms.
