Could be the urban legend breathed life into something like this happening. Had that happen with the urban legend of people sticking razor blades behind stickers. Never believed it until a friend of mine got a nasty cut. Some nazi put a razor blade behind one of their stickers and it sliced my friend's fingers. They're fine now but still.
