You're saying "tone policing" to ridicule it, but as a political party that needs to attract the general public to get elected - yeah, policing tone is actually kinda important. Not saying everything should be bland or a 300-page nuanced policy analysis, but you need to bring people with you, not alienate them.

A heat pump still costs a hell of a lot more than a high gas bill or a new boiler.

    New boiler: £3000
New heat pump: £12000 (without subsidy)

You'd have to increase a new boiler by a lot to make a heat pump worthwhile currently, and then you'll find most people would be able to afford neither.

I have my own reservations about the motion, but it isn't really antisemitic. I think calling something "antisemitic" is simply used as a shortcut to discredit anything they don't like related to Israel and Judaism. There's never any reason given for something like this being antisemitic, it "just is".

A frothing Tory's "political activism" is often just common sense. e.g. it's OK to be gay, trans people exist and that's OK...

While of course I teach these values in basic fucking human decency to my child, I have no problem in it coming up in the classroom, especially if there's a marginalised child in the class.

Just because some adults like to bully marginalised people, it doesn't mean their kids should be able to get away with bullying in school too.

And that's not even mentioning that teachers also shouldn't be "impartial" around basic scientific concepts like climate change and vaccines...

They haven't released the actual text yet, but I wonder how Reform council LNRS policies compare with other councils, considering their central policy boils down to "Fuck the environment, why spend any money on that"

Surely this group has no basis to sue under the Equality Act. They're not being discriminated against based on their protected characteristics - i.e. because they're women. They were denied because their views are counter to the party's manifesto. Just the same as if Esso tried to rock up to the Green Conference.

I don't think using Amazon Luna on your PC gives you any particular privacy concerns. It's just a website. If you're worried, as long as you're using a decent privacy-conscious web browser, and/or a separate browser to what youd normally use, IMO you're probably fine. I think Luna needs a Chromium based web browser to work if it helps.

I play Fortnite on my Fedora laptop with my son using my partner's Prime account, and it works pretty well. It pops up at the start to say it's not a supported platform, but then plays with generally no problem.

Oh one thing, you'd need to link your Amazon account and Epic account, so whoever has access to your Amazon account can play your Epic games through Luna. For me that's not an issue but it might be for you if it's your mom's account?
