There’s a difference between rejecting sexism within a movement and trying to abolish gender inequality. I agree that the former is important for building solidarity. However the latter is likely impossible under capitalism.
Sure but class inequality is what exacerbates gender inequality. Under capitalism anyone who is working class is forced to sell their labor to survive. Women are inherently disadvantaged here because their labor is required for social reproduction. Even assuming an equal distribution of housework and raising kids women have to do the unpaid work of pregnancy, childbirth, nursing, etc. Capitalists will therefore discount the value of a women’s labor regardless of her individual capabilities or productive output. As a result women are often forced to depend on the men in their lives for financial stability.
Conservatives are hell bent on normalizing this unnatural inequality between the sexes because doing so protects the underlying class inequality between owners and workers. This is what helps to create a sexist culture that even wealthy women have to endure. However, a woman who can live off of the growth of her investments is not facing the full weight of gender inequality that a working class woman must contend with. She does not have to deal with the threat of homelessness, hunger, and poverty that keeps many working class women dependent on men. Her financial stability is already assured because of her class position and the exploitation of the working class. That gives her far more freedoms than even most working class men.
The obvious solution to the problem is to upend capitalism which is what reinforces class. That creates the possibility of actually valuing reproductive labor and giving universal financial independence to all women. If you just try to address gender inequality alone without upending capitalism you won’t be able to succeed. Even if somehow you did, the vast majority of inequality would remain because most inequality can be explained by class alone. So while its true that gender and class issues are interrelated, abolishing class creates the conditions necessary to abolish gender inequality.
You’re a fucking joke, a fascist repeating hasbara lies desperately trying to normalize genocide. You can pretend history began on October 7th all you want. Unfortunately for you, the days where you could whitewash Israel’s decades long campaign to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homeland are over. People see the vile shit you’re spewing for what it is.
Zionism is just 20th century ethnonationalism trying to disguise itself using the real trauma and oppression of Jewish people as a cloak to hide a holocaust of it’s own making. You alongside ever zionist antisemitic piece of shit including Biden and Harris can fuck right off. You are legitimately no better than Trump or any other white nationalist asshole. Your beliefs are identical and the world can see it even if you can’t.
I just had to look this up and it did not disappoint. It was apparently a triple barrel gun with a machete for a stock and only went out of service in 2006.
Automated defogging is already a thing in some cars.
Japanese companies cornered precision manufacturing which is really useful when producing reliable and efficient internal combustion engines. Electric cars are less dependent on precision manufacturing which is probably why Japanese companies failed to invest in them. They wouldn’t have any strategic advantages in the EV market. It was a total lack of foresight on their part. Chinese companies invested so much in battery and electric motor research and manufacturing that they now have a pretty sizable advantage over everyone else.
The problem for Trump is that he couldn’t continue escalating the war without causing a global recession. As much as his wealthy backers want to destroy Iran, they can’t stomach such a crisis. It would seriously hurt the US ability to project power and would fast track American decline. I agree that he’s crazy and stupid enough to still do it. However, he probably one of the dumbest people in the White House. Even his cabinet of sycophants has to know when to push back. If he went forward with his attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure it would have ruined them as well.
I’m not sure they really lost momentum. They are still exerting control of the straits by enacting a toll, something they had already begun doing. A two week ceasefire isn’t enough time for countries to replenish their oil reserves and secure alternative energy sources. What they probably need to do now is extract concessions that allow them to rebuild and become even more resilient against US intervention. If they get even half of the 10 demands they laid out as part of the ceasefire agreement they’ll be in a more advantageous position long term.
The question I have right now is, will they resume firing on Israel now that it’s clear Israel has rejected the terms of the ceasefire? Everyone knows negotiating further with the US and Israel is pointless. Iran needs to show that if their demands aren’t met there will be consequences. If they don’t aid Hezbollah, that would be a sign they’ve lost momentum. It could mean that they aren’t confident enough to include their allies as part of the tit for tat strategy they’ve followed throughout the entire war.
This is just capitalism. As profits fall due to competition between capitalists they seek new ways to profit. Monopolization, intensified exploitation, enshittification are one way to deal with this problem. However, if those aren’t working capitalists will try to fuse themselves to the state. They use state violence to pursue profits through hyperexploitation and imperialism. That’s what we call fascism. It’s not distinct from capitalism, just an extension of it.
AI companies are no different than any of the other companies that preceded it. They are so over leveraged it’s unlikely they can survive in the long run without the state. Thats why they are comfortable working with fascists. We could have computer scientists creating similar models that actually benefit humanity but it’s not going to happen under capitalism.
What do they have to lose though? The moment the US starts bombing again the missiles start to fly. It’s tit for tat. That’s been their strategy this whole time. I don’t think they expect the US to take negotiations seriously at all.
I do however think Iran wants to appear reasonable to the rest of the world. Under the ceasefire, they still expect other countries to coordinate with them to get ships through. That was already happening prior to the ceasefire but now it’s clear that’s what they expect from everyone. They’re forcing the world to acknowledge Iranian sovereignty over the strait which is a pretty serious win if they can keep it.
Exactly, they were already coordinating with various countries to let ships through. I believe the number of ships has been steadily increasing. Every agreement Iran makes cements their newfound sovereignty over the strait including this ceasefire.
Israel already rejected Iran’s terms for a ceasefire and is continuing to attack Lebanon.
