An older kid told me that lettuce isn't real. That it's like Slash where it's just a guy with a wig and top hat and it's not always the same guy. Tell me it isn't so!

Hi, I'm using KDE Plasma and it's been great so far. I heard that the new version will be Wayland only. I'm no expert on the matter, but I've been happy to be able to switch between Wayland and X11. Some older Windows games I play through Wine run better with X11. Also in python programming the pyautogui module only works with X11. As far as I know it's not even possible at all in Wayland to make mouse and keyboard automations. Thats kind of a bummer for me. Why not just support both as they do now?

    Hi,

I'd like a hotkey tool in that I can use in CachysOS with KDE Plasma and using Wayland when running Lurtis playng Warcraft 3.

What I'm seeking is a tool I can run externally from Lutris and then set hotkeys qwerty asdfgh zxcvbn to move the mouse to a specific screen location and do one or two left clicks and then return to the origin position.

I realize that Warcraft 3 can already be customized to user qwer asdf zxcv hotkeys, but first of all I also want ty gh bn to activate items in hero inventory which custom hotkeys can't and secondly the custom hotkeys only work in the "normal" game and not in custom games.

I've been trying to make a python script myself with AI (I also know how to code, but you know, prototyping is just so much faster with ai) and I got it working nicely actually under x11, but I just cannot get anything working properly under Wayland.

If you have any tips for such a tool or what approach to take if I were to code it myself (with python preferably) that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Have a PC with 16gb ram that lives up to the overwatch game system reqs. When I installed it and launched it, it began building some sort of cache. A one time job. During that chache my os would force close steam to prevent an oom crash. I then added 16gb swap and during the owerwatch cache job the used phys ram would max out at 12gb I think and the swap sent up to 10gb. So a 22gb ram job. Yikes. Thanks swap ram 👍

In the new Lemmy version all images are black placeholders and I need to tap the placeholder image to load the real image. Is there a setting to load images so I can see them as I scroll through content?

Edit_01: I should have mentioned that I use Jerboa. The issue seemed to be the low bandwith mode as others have mentioned. Thanks

    Hi,

I have a Western digital 'WD My Passport' external usb harddisk and it has become defective in some way.

When I connect it to windows I've managed to get access to it before, but it was really sluggush to navigate in and it would fail to open certain folders and files. Now I cannot get windows to recognize it al all. It powers on and windows says something like 'setting up deveice', but nothing more happens.

If I open windows 'disk management' the drive shows up as 'Disk 1', 'Unknown', 'Not initialized'.

I wes reccomended a tool called Recuva (https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva), but since windows doesn't recognize the disk I cannot tell the tool where to look for files to recover.

I've also tried a tool called TestDisk (https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download), but it doesn't see the drive.

    Can anyone help please? :)

    Thanks
