There are soo many options for Linux that it can be hard to make a decision.

My recommendation for people moving from windoze who haven’t used anything else is always Ubuntu. I run an Ubuntu machine, and have a couple of other distros for different purposes.

The advantage of Ubuntu is that it is generally plug and play, and that it is a very easy transition from the dark side.

Once you get comfortable, then move to different distros. Currently, I have Ubuntu, Mint,Pop, and Hannah Montana running.

We have a few turtles in a small dam on our property. Typically, they are the size of the palm of my hand.

This one measures nearly 300mm along the length of his shell. We live next to the Tingalpa reservoir, so took him down there and put him on the bank. He disappeared into the water pretty quickly. Amazing how fast they can move across the ground when they want to.

You are right, she did do well in the face of an abusive customer, and, as you point out, I’m not in Kansas, or even the US.

I am a senior manager, and have faced this before and have reacted by trespassing customers from all of our branches, closing accounts, denying customers accounts, etc. I also know that my position is unique and privileged.

I answer to the owners of my company and they have my back.

I behaved in the same way in an American owned corporate, and whilst they initially backed me, I was up for redundancy at the first opportunity for them.

Manager got it wrong. Correct response would have been: Get that camera out of my face, don’t record me or my staff, get out and don’t come back. You are banned.

The customer is always right bullshit is misunderstood.

It started as something along the lines of “Assume that the customer is right until it is plain beyond all question that he is not.”

It was also stylised as “the customer is always right in matters of taste.” Which meant the customer could choose to buy your goods and services, or your competitors, and, as it was his money he was spending, he was right.

The modern meaning is a bastardisation that opens employees to pettiness and abuse.

Edit:also if someone misgenders people, we are almost obligated to misgender them back

My brother in law did something similar a few years back.

He combined two of the drawers into one, leaving it looking the same from the outside. This gave him plenty of space. Cooling and airflow were the biggest issue. Panels were removed from the back of the drawers and replaced with an aluminium vent, cut down to size and reinforced with some strap brace.

Combining the space means he can get his hands in there to replace/upgrade parts as needed

Used a noctua DH15 for cooling the CPU and two fans to draw in and expel air.

This is a typical example of punching down by someone who has a platform that shares his views without question.

Ratcliffe has done more to harm the UK than anyone he is blaming. He has removed himself from paying tax, hoarded wealth and resources, and blames those that he and his companies take advantage of.

Fuck you Ratcliffe, you elitist piece of shit.

I just bought this yesterday for my 16 year old son. He is in year 11, doing subjects heavy in maths and science. His old laptop was 8 years old and falling. I had a budget of $1200, reluctantly, as I knew that DDR prices and storage prices had gone through the roof recently. Typically, I have spent $700-800 on laptops for my kids.

I walked into a local retailer and this was presented as a laptop that had been ordered and not collected or paid for. Price was $1,999 firm.

After some negotiation, I walked out with it for $1,500. Way more than I was comfortable spending but it seems to be a good deal, unless I am missing something?

Tomahawk steak was half price at the local butcher, so I purchased one for my eldest son’s birthday.

We followed an online recipe (following a recipe is unusual for us - we view them as guidelines, not instructions), and had a fantastic result.

Great crust, great flavour, consistent texture. Best steak I have ever cooked at home. Maybe recipes have something going for them….

So, steak, beer, sauce. Great company, great night
