I mostly mean the human side of it. Even without something like that the alias part was fine, it was not remembering which one I used when asked in person. Or family members being unable to remember my email because the answer wasn't the same one time.

I understand why the idea is appealing, I'm just putting it out there for anyone else reading that the human element is a cost I hadn't considered when I started. Personally I don't have enough of a spam problem to warrant committing to it.

Seconding mailbox. It's a nice no bullshit provider so far.

E2E encryption is a bit of a distraction on email. You're not emailing people on the same provider most of the time, and if you actually need privacy just use a purpose built communication system. With that in mind, it just comes down to something that is in a jurisdiction that you're ok with, and has values you care about.

While you're at it I recommend getting a custom domain if you haven't. It's not much extra work, and will make it easier to switch in the future.

I tried it with GrapheneOS' sandboxed google play services, and it only sort of worked. Most of my steps wouldn't get logged. To be fair, that is as advertised. The game seems to expect a consistent reporting of steps rather than just pulling the data when you open it, which seems like the sort of thing that will make compatibility hard.

Anyways what I saw of it was pretty cool so folks should definitely check it out.

It seemed obvious that platform speed should come down to thrust to mass ratio. Width mattering never would have occurred to me. So, obviously I'm happy with this change. I guess triangles are in for speed designs now!

Because this is retrospective/correlational, a more plausible explanation is reverse causality, i.e., depressed people are more likely to want to have a pet in their life.

The title is provocative and misleading, but the body of the article frames it as 'dismantling' in a good way. The sort of profound change to the US imperialism status quo that we need right now.

Like sure I don't like that he's privatizing stuff but the article definitely didn't say Carney bad.

I have been keeping an eye on Terra Invicta for interest in the space development side of the game mostly. But now that it's released I've decided, reluctantly, that it is not for me as it's basically two different games stapled together, with some deeply questionable design choices.

Thinking about it gave me that spreadsheet game itch and it occurred to me that something that puts a grand strategy spin on kerbal space program would be really cool! Focus on mission planning, management, and R&D for early space flight through near future space industrial development/mining/permanent bases.

Has anyone heard of anything like that? Or should I just cave and give Aurora 4x another go?

Is there any way to see which instances a given instances is defederated from? Ideal would be something like a sortable list of instances with a federated yes/no.

I'm curious about what Lemmy is like in other instances and that seems like a good way to get an overview. Plus it would be helpful to know that corners of the fediverse I'm missing
