Honestly at least some of it does feel like LLMs are part of it. I know my management used to be really cautious about introducing breaking changes or changing anything that could affect customers, now that AI is here it's full steam ahead lets fuck everything as fast as possible. It's very strange how quickly it's happened.

Top right is a guy I used to follow before I realised he probably wasn't the healthiest guy to listen to. AmazingAtheist I believe. At the time when I was a teenager he made me more able to articulate some of the inherent hypocrisies and similarities between religions (Christmas took over a pagan holiday, which took it from something else, and on it goes all the way back to ancient Egyptian mythology, for example). But then I think he also turned a lot of us into know-it-all little shits who wouldn't shut the fuck up.

You shouldn't need extra software. PDFs just work.

What? PDFs absolutely don't just work without "extra software", you need a browser or acrobat or some other pdf reader.

I guess it's a call for a OS-bundled markdown renderer but then you have to open different software depending on what you want to do with it which I'd hate personally. Not to mention the 10s of standards for markdown and no way to know which one the file used/intended.

It's almost like their supposed beliefs aren't sincerely held and they are nominally attaching themselves to that belief system to lend credibility to whatever they want to spread. This post is about MAGA, people with "legitimate concerns" about immigration while rioting and destroying livelihoods, and about these fucks.

I know "AI bad" but some of these things would help people to avoid overusing AI, like telling AI to automate repeated tasks using deterministic methods rather than asking the AI to do the same thing every day or something.

Other points like dictating your task list for the day because you're "too tired to type" seem ridiculous to me though. Typing really isn't that hard. If the barrier is speed or allowing yourself to not apply structure to your thoughts that's completely separate from AI.

Hopefully the title is self-explanatory but some more details:

    • game is in isometric perspective with the camera locked to the player but from a significant distance away, creating high likelihood of obstructions by the level and decorations occuring
    • I want the player to see their character's vision and not have these obstructions block the player's view.

One way to achieve this might be to use raycasts from the character to hide objects (like walls or buildings) if they collide with an object on the opposite side to the camera. A slight problem there is if buildings have interiors then the rays wouldn't necessarily hit all relevant objects. Sometimes both the interior and exterior of the building would need to visible.

I've seen a few videos on stencil buffers but my understanding is that this might not apply, but I will admit to not understanding them well. Any help appreciated for this newbie to game dev.
