They have blood on their hands. Indirectly maybe, but there is a LOT of blood. They deserve much worse than protests
We had loads last year, like... 40 or 50, and this year we had 2. I think there was a big soccer match on so boys and dads wanted to watch that instead
Meanwhile, 1 mile away, every street had a constant stream of kids and teens dressed up.
The BBC, perhaps. Still conservative, but compared to some US networks they're practically three Lenin's in a trenchcoat
It's more that nobody I know, including weblebreties, are on it. Except for Cory Doctorow (a bit)
There's much more to it than that. If you invent a brilliant new thing that everyone will want... how are you going to make it at scale, at a price people will pay for it? The cheapest, quickest, most efficient way by far would be to make it in China. Sure, maybe you could build the factory and distribution networks in the west, and maybe persuade investors to let you do that, but China will imitate and undercut you astonishing quickly.
This and the original dozen or so lolcats
Probably my favourite series this year
Oh yeah? We'll see about that
Yeah, this is me. I used to be pretty quick witted and funny, but mostly in a 'bad taste' or random kinda way that only really works around teenages and young 20-somethings. I'd probably lose an eyebrow through cringing if I heard my younger self talking like that, even if the rest of the group laughed
I dunno... to me, it didn't make sense that Bitcoin became valuable. I figured NFTs were just bitcoin tied to a picture, so why wouldn't they have a chance of being worth something too? Makes just as much lack of sense.
Note: I have never bought any form of cryptocurrency, but honestly, mainly because it was too much of a faff to use.
This is why the movie Snowpiercer kicks ass. The hero learns there's no way of keeping the system stable without poverty, murder and forced labour, so breaks the system entirely.
Wish there could be a sequel.
This is how the web was meant to be!
