I use sftpgo for file sharing with others
You can doubt all you want, but I'm just telling you exactly how it is. I checked it in multiple ip location check services. They gave me an IP that was geolocated to my telco providers city.
Just fyi - afaik with Proton it is also only Proton to Proton emails that are automatically e2e encrypted.
Both providers have an option to encrypt other outgoing emails, but the reader needs to enter a password which is a hassle and "nobody" seems to use those options.
It's not like that for me.
I was in another country recently (not neighbouring mine, there were 5 other countries in between)
And when on mobile data my ip location was the location of my telco, back in my home country.
I just migrated linkwarden to karakeep, because with linkwarden I couldn't make it archive certain bot protected websites.

I'm not sure if it's related, but recently on my desktop I've been torrenting about a dozen of Linux ISOs* to my hard drive and the whole fucking system was freezing for multiple seconds and completely unusable.
The OS is installed on an NVME. No CPU core was above 5-10% use. RAM usage was below 20%. SWAP was barely touched. No programs opened besides qbittorrent and VPN.
Just opening the main menu or typing something in the search bar took 3-10 seconds depending on the lag spike... When I stopped the torrents, after a minute everything was buttery smooth again.
It kinda reminded me of the issues I had when I mounted my NAS on boot. Dolphin would slow down to a crawl when opening home, even though it had nothing to do with the NAS ...
Something is seriously borked with KDE Plasma and slow secondary storage.
Did codeberg not make a rule against LLM assisted sodtware recently?
That entire world needs a cargo equivalent.
The one time I needed to compile a rust app, I followed the instructions on their github and it used cargo and it didn't work. Don't remember the issue now, but it instantly gave me the same yuck I get when forced to use pip or npm and it breaks in the same fucking way.
Had better luck compiling maven/gradle apps oh and yes, makefiles worked reliably for me so far.
But this is just a personal anecdote and I rarely have to compile anything myself.

tldr: only way to not be located is to leave all smart devices at home (and hope nobody with smart glasses will cross your path, but this part is not in the links)
Is this the end of game rewrites?
No...
