You’d best start believing in traffic, URINE ONE. POOP IS NUMBER TWO.

…just thought I’d garden path my lazy meme into asburism.

I was told promos are meant to be akin to the elevator-Spielberg ride, wherein you gotta sell Spielberg your idea within the elevator ride’s duration.

I just imagine someone saying this narration to him, the ride ends, and he just wordlessly walks off the elevator.

My bad for not checking more into the metrics when I got it, but my Apple Watch alerted me my cardio fitness was “Low” with a notification warning; it never notified me when I was at the higher level of “Below Average” because that’s where I started when I got it, but I wish it did.

Anyways, I treat my body like a copilot asleep at the yoke while the pilot (that was an amalgamation of my parents and gym class and walking places out of having no choice) left quite a while ago.

Started getting my cardio fitness up with UGH boring treadmill walk-jogs and UGH boring breathing exercises. Sure I’m seeing slight improvements after two weeks, but YAWN-O-SAURUS.

The headline doesn’t invite room for nuance, and there’s a higher concentration of pirates here.

And— again, not to excuse it— most streaming services already do these types of promos, even Apple TV (meant to be the prestige one).

I don’t think they’ll slide into putting them in the middle of shows, but I do think they’ll charge more for ad-free than they’d have ever made from the user on ad-supported, and they’ll make the ads so annoying on ad tiers to pull users into ad-free tiers.

Prime is the worst one afaic: ads in the middle, ads on both ends, and ads on the pause screen, and clicking Enter shops for whatever the ad is about about. Not to mention the ads in the program itself (Prime boxes, Amazon trucks, etc.).

I was at my parent’s house and they watch that 9-1-1 Ryan Murphy show; oh my fucking god, I thought the Subway sandwich ad in the Hawaii-5-O was embarrassing: this program plugged three things in less than a minute.
