Annoyingly, in Aus, if you try to shop locally, youll find the stuff in Kmart et al. is all imported crap from aliexpress anyway. So you basically are paying a huge markup for the same garbage.

These are at least somewhat closely priced now, but the Kmart sprayer was double that price a few months back when I needed one. And its not just Kmart, every shop is the same, its all poor quality crap. So why not get the poor quality crap direct from the source at half the price, even with shipping. Its pretty fucked up.

The point of de-minimus (at least in Aus) is to ease the load on customs, so they don't have to waste time and effort processing tax a few cents worth of tax on thousands of packages.

Getting rid of it will probably make the less reputable sellers (eBay) go back to marking everything as a gift.

I'm lucky, so far no AI slop PRs yet, so I'm in a different boat. I'm happy to keep my little thing going and hope that it slowly dies away with no further attention.

emphasises human understanding and ownership as mandatory components of contribution.

That really the best you can hope for, although I dunno how you can force ownership. Its not easy to hunt down the original developer if there is a bug in their code.

I'm curious to know what the quality rate was like before AI. Anecdotally, my marginally popular repo got a few PRs, but many of them were pretty much garbage as well. No tests, broken tests, half baked code. Human written didnt mean good

Damn. I like Mazda's, didnt know they were still doing that shit. My friends 2014 Mazda 3 had a built in GPS system, and then paid extra for Android Auto. It was common then, didnt know it was still a thing now. He somewhat regrets not getting the upgrade.

Its also pretty inexpensive to build a headunit with android auto, I upgraded my 2012 Mazda 2 with a Chinese headunit for $200 AUD, and I'm sure Mazda could do it even cheaper at scale.
