It's hilarious that Jehovah's Witnesses, who refuse military service altogether (even non-combat) and kick out members who join the military, are directly recognized, while Mormons (who have no such restrictions on military service) are not. Evangelicals consider both of them to be basically heretical.

Like everything Hegseth touches is just clearly being touched by a know-nothing dumbfuck.

Edit: well I feel dumb, they are there. I stand by my Hegseth comments however.

    The Mormons are there:

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (CJ)

Amusingly, it's usually shortened as LDS. But it's CJ in the military for some reason...

All of the crazy Christian faiths are on the list, unsurprisingly.
What's more surprising is that the Defense Secy's Church of Quentin Tarantino isn't.

They should drop all of them, because Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Hot take: The "no prohibiting the free exercise of religion" rule should be updated to "religion should be practiced free as long as it does not seek to subvert democratic institutions, or infringe other people's human rights". Anything else will lead to the slow and painful death of secularism.

Yeah, we need to crack down on religion because they're oppressing people who want nothing to do with them

Start a church. They're tax exempt. In fact, I don't even think that the IRS is permitted to audit them.

It's on my to-do list. Beyond being tax free, you can go out and solicit donations, you can fundraise in a variety of ways, I'll bet you could get "clergy" passes for parking or any number of conveniences.

You mean that piece of paper Trump wipes his ample ass with?
Sorry, there's a long brown stain covering that amendment now.

This restructuring of faith codes, which help identity service members as well as the military in planning for appropriated religious coverage to include them, has now excluded minority faith/worldview groups including Atheists, Asatru, Deists, Druids, Eckankar, Heathens, Humanists, Magick, New Age churches, Pagan, Rosicrucianism, Shaman, Spiritualists, Troth, Unitarian Universalists and various Wiccans.

They did leave "No Religion" as an option, I think that still applies.

Looking at that list, there are many that I'm not familiar with, but Wicca is definitely a religion, isn't it? Maybe they left "Wicca" in the list and removed specific types of Wicca? It's not completely clear, but anyways, if they completely removed Wicca, then a Wiccan wouldn't have a way to answer.

Ah the Trump covid testing strategy. If you don't look for cases then they will simply not exist.
