Everything Disney makes is made by executives. That's why everything sucks now.

The access media is gonna LOVE this one. Mostly, because that's what they've been told.
The first season was a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching it. The 2nd was ok but it seems weaker but ended well. I don't think I even finished the 3rd. While I did finish the Boba Fett it was a chore and I did not even make through Asoka. Disney has pissed he bed with Star Wars just as they have with Marvel.
Not feeling optimistic.
Oh dear. Early reactions are often buzzing for even mid blockbusters. This is gonna be bleh af, isn't it?
I said it before and I'll say it again. Grogu is the worst part of the mandalorian. I wanted a cool space bounty hunter show, and then we ended up with a babysitter with the mandalorian and parcs & rec in space with the book of boba fett.
It’s been a long time since I’ve found other people’s opinions to be at all predictive of whether I’ll enjoy in a movie. I’m here for Baby Yoda and Muscle Hutt. I think the film makers probably understand that.
Star Wars fans are the worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars.
Nah, that's Disney.
Are people still pretending the prequels are good?
They aren't good but there are good ideas in them. I really like the setting and world building that is barely featured in the actual movies lol
The original movies were made by a collaborative team, hence the quality. The prequels were made by emperor Lucas. I'm not saying he was overbearing, but at that point he was a legend. Who was going to tell him something was a bad idea or that his dialogue sucked? Nobody. But during the original trilogy the cast was constantly complaining to him about his dialogue.
Star Wars was perfectly capable of being screwed up before Disney. Disney gave us crap, but they also gave us some of the best Animated star Wars, they oversaw games like Fallen Order and Jedi survivor, they oversaw Rogue One and Andor. Yeah Disney can make crap Star Wars but they've also made some of the best since the original trilogy.
pretty much every fandom. Doctor Who fans turned me off watching it (the ones on reddit by far being the worst). Star Trek fans are even the same with stuff like Starfleet Academy.
It's to the point now where if I like something I don't even talk about it online. except for 40K. that fanbase is hilarious.
Oh, you didn't stumble upon the part of the fanbase that likes and paints their Imperial Guard in historical inspired colours. Or the ones that like their Black Templar a bit too much. Or the ones that want to "purge the Xenos" irl.
Plus the way overdone shovel meme.
Doctor Who and Star Trek drove off everyone with any kind of sense years ago (I quit DW after the first Peter Capaldi season and I haven't watched any Star Trek media since the JJ Abrams movies) so it's not surprising that their current fanbase aren't exactly providing stimulating conversation.
I have little doubt I'll enjoy it. I love the Star Wars Galaxy and while I find the movies (and TV shows) of varying quality, there has only been one that I couldn't find a reason to love. I am pretty sure I'll enjoy this one. I'm also pretty sure I'll have to put on my "kids movie" hat, and I'm okay with that. Clone Wars and Rebels both needed that and were extremely rewarding to watch by any measure.
It’s pretty clear which moviegoers want to be entertained and which ones want to be impressed in spite of themselves.
Filoni has proven he gets a Star Wars. So as long as it feels like Star Wars, I’m convinced I’m going to have a good time.
And being better than the last several theatrical movies is a pretty low bar to clear.
It doesn’t tick every single box of imagined hype therefore it’s trash
It’s amazing to me how the star wars fan base writes every movie in their head and then gets pissed when the actual movie isn’t exactly what they visualized. I’ve enjoyed (with varying degree) all of the star wars universe.
People… what can ya do?
Star Wars “fans” are the worst. Enjoy stuff for what it is man, which is basically kids adventure stories.
I think if Mandalorian had not been so popular then it possibly would’ve stayed a bit grittier like season 1. But, it’s had to evolve to be more because it’s now appealing to such a wide audience.
Damn. Absolutely no one could have seen this coming. I mean literally no one in the world would have ever expected this outcome for a movie that was barely advertised, that's following a lackluster end to a mid show two years after the fact.
/s in case it wasn't obvious.
What.sucks is that it sounds like it's two episodes of the Mando TV series turned into a film.
On paper if you rewind to the end of Mando season 2. Give us a Boba solo story of him wanting to settle down. Give us a Mando one shot adventure "special presentation" without Grogu (basically the story of him hunting down the dog person in Book of Boba), then give us a Boba+Mando+Grogu film. Then give us Mando season 3 rebuilding Mandalore. Then put this as part of Mando season 4??? You'd be golden.
On paper this story works. The execution has been all over the place.
Based on the reviews this is going to be a mid film that will probably do well on Disney+. But as a theatrical film? It's fine.
I wasn't super impressed with the show but the movie was nice. Better than Solo, not as good as Rogue One. As people have pointed out, it can come across like 2 episodes of the show back to back but the writing and execution of the movie is way better than any episodes on the show. My chief complaints are that Nal Hutta and the Hutts decadent crime lord lifestyle could have received a little more screen time since it hasn't been (to my knowledge) depicted on screen yet and the Rotta plot line could have been fleshed out a little more but the movie was already at 2 hours and 12 minutes. Not a very "deep" movie, action heavy and plot light, it's no Andor and lacks the subtexts of the prequels but it's in many ways more fun to watch than episodes 1-3.
What is a snooze fest?
