Linus videos have clickbait titles like that, and it's in reference to some news articles calling GOS an OS for criminals

Title and thumbnail aside, the video was a positive review of GOS and was made with help from a GOS team member. I probably should have added the extra context before it got downvoted away 😄

What is all this for criminals BS. Graphene is one of the best ROMs out there if your willing to use Google hardware. Pretty much just works and without the normal bloat.

Leave it to Lemmy to down vote the hell out of a decent video

I don't think it is bad. However, Linus is going to quickly discover why people avoid Graphene OS. (The devs and community are toxic as hell)

It's because we all know he both steals content and fakes reviews. He lost our trust. He can make one good video but it doesn't make up for his entire history.

I even don't care about trust or whatever drama of the day is going on with LTT. I'm just sick beyond any measure of all that clickbait shit.

So you're going to punish people even when they do the right thing.

Why would anyone choose to do the right thing over wrong, if you always punish them no matter what they do?

The click bait title also annoys me, if that makes you feel better.

That feels like a post-hoc excuse rather than a reason.

I already gave my reason, you didn't like it. It's not my fault if you also didn't like my second reason.

What I like or don't doesn't matter here. You're going to do what your going to do. I'm merely pointing out the apparent logic of your responses. It's up to you to decide if you like them.

Which it seems you might not, since you keep coming up with new excuses trying to justify your feelings.

Which now includes blaming me, as if your lack of reasonable justification is my fault.

K... It's justifiable enough to me, and that's enough for me, so if you're upset enough to have a comment chain like this then... I guess I don't know what you're looking for. So, I'm probably going to stop replying because I've said why, and you rejected my why. Twice.

Read again. I never rejected anything. Literally all I did was point out the logic of your thinking. You could have agreed the logic I pointed out was in fact your correct belief. But instead you decided that logic wasn't good enough, and responded with annother justification. That's all that happened here.

I never used an angry word. I've been nothing but civil. And I'm sorry I couldn't explain your own logic to you well enough. That's my failing.

You may be better served reading up on Behavior Modification Therapy. It's more effective at producing positive changes in people, then the blanket shunning your doing.

Yah. That makes sense. After re-reading everything there are no aggressive statements; No explitives or insults. There's nothing in thewords themselves displaying anger.

However it is common for people to see disagreement or contention as a hostile attack. Especially when contesting a perceived morality. The only sensible reason I can see my words would appear angry to you, is that you're reading my words with your emotions and conflating the two.

So if I angered you in my questioning the validity of your moral condemnation, I apologize. It's a regrettable consequence. One that's common enough, I should have predicted it. I might have handled things differently if I had.

Even my previous comment you called passive agressive, was intended to be condescending. I could have softened that more.

Tbf, whenever there's a private tool like graphene, tor, tails, whonix, mullvad, matrix, jabber, pgp, etc?

Yes, criminals will use it, because of course they don't want to get caught for crimes just as much as we don't want to be tracked in general (maybe more, because crimes lol).

But also, criminals use roads, trains, busses, the USPS and private mail carriers, normal phones including SMS and calls, facetime, email, they drink water and eat food, on and on.

"Criminals use it" is a fucking stupid reason to ban anything, in fact it's a good reason we should adopt it too in terms of privacy, because if it works for them doing way worse than I am, then it ought to work just fine for me too. Besides over half of those criminals are just using WHM or whatever is the go to these days, define "criminals."

Can't wait for the meltdown from the official GrapheneOS social media account about how LTT is part of a conspiracy to besmirch GrapheneOS and must be taken down for all the harassment it has caused.
