"Calm down! We only want your minerals. You can keep your shithole country." (trump, or one of his minions, probably).

Time to join Elbows Up if you haven’t. We are calm as we can be here in Canada and still inflict pain on the USA.

Denmark used to be one of the most pro-American countries in Europe, effectively having no foreign policy of their own but just jumping after the Americans.

It has been really pathetic to watch, but at least now their shaken out of their dumb american dream and forced to wake up. I imagine they will take some time to really put together a response as they haven't had an independent thought about foreign policy since before the war, but the damage caused here to the US is effectively that they lost one of their by far most loyal allies on the international stage, and I don't see them ever coming back.

As for moves to boycott US products and more popular resistance I haven't seen much about it in the streets. I'm hoping it'll come.

Sounds like Canada! We woke up big time. Still room for improvement but my guess is at least 30% of Canadian are pretty much done with the USA for good. Travel is dropping, American produce in store is rotting (I have never seen US strawberries on sale that cheap!). Follow our lead haha.

    Travel is dropping

Anecdotal, but I just returned from a very pleasant Canadian vacation and the return flight was the emptiest I’ve ever seen an airport. Zero line to check my bag, zero line to go through security, zero line to go through customs. Many empty seats on the flight itself. It was eerie. I wonder how much longer Air Canada is going to offer that flight…

Canada (Quebec City) was beautiful and charming. The people were friendly, the weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the politics were sane. Sigh. If any Canadians reading this are hiring software engineers, drop me a DM..

Yay! I am glad you had a good time here! Where was the flight going?

Texas, the state I happened to be born in. My family is all here, or I probably would have left by now. Austin, for what it’s worth. A rare blue area in a sea of MAGA.

It was the same when I left Vancouver for a meeting in the USA right as this all kicked off. US customs was empty, and they didn't challenge anything (like they used to) almost like they knew they needed tourism so didn't want to turn anyone away

And yet when China is even rumoured to be influencing Americans it's wild-flappy-arm-huffing-and-puffing time.

Maybe Denmark ought to buy some ad space in the US to talk about their government.

Telling people to "calm down" always has the desired effect. It is known. 😄

Denmark summons U.S. envoy over claims of interference in Greenland

Denmark's foreign minister summoned the top U.S. diplomat in the country for talks after the main national broadcaster reported Wednesday that at least three people with connections to President Donald Trump have been carrying out covert influence operations in Greenland.

It’s only a little “light” invasion. Just relax.

I would say I’ve seen more news about Denmark-Greenland relations in the last say month than I have my entire life. Feels like they’re busy at work in the realm of swaying public opinion.

USA is not an ally to anyone, just look at how they've behaved against Canada, a country that supported the US fight for independence, and has been their #1 ally ever since.
Denmark too has been one of the closest allies to USA for half a century. And USA could easily make defense agreements regarding Greenland with Greenland and Denmark. Yet they choose to behave like an enemy!!!

USA is behaving like an enemy, and behaving like an enemy, actually makes you one.

For Christ sake, stop the purchase from Denmark of F35!! What the fuck is our government thinking continuing that moronic program?

Yeah, over a long enough timescale every country's relations have their ups and downs. Recent generations have been quite close, though - Canada spent a lot of military lives supporting America's misadventure in Afghanistan, for example. So it's still quite the massive stab in the back as far as the currently living Canadians are concerned.
