-President Donald Trump announced White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller will be promoted to chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles.

-Miller will take over starting Monday, Trump said in a Truth Social post.

-Wiles “will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation,” the president wrote.

President Donald Trump on Friday announced White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller will be promoted to chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles.

Trump revealed the stunning shake-up just three days after Democrats won a landslide victory in the midterm elections, gaining majority control in the House and Senate and scrambling the trajectory of Trump’s last two years in office.

Elevating Miller, an architect or Trump’s controversial mass-deportation efforts, is bound to raise the hackles of the incoming class of congressional Democrats, who have already vowed to investigate the government’s immigration policies.

Miller will take over starting Monday, Trump said in a Truth Social post, praising his longtime aide as “one of my most trusted advisors.”

Wiles, “who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation,” the president wrote.

Trump hands the Republicans their greatest electoral loss since Watergate. Does he:

A. Consider moderating his executive approach for the barest snowball's-chance-in-hell of leaving behind a not-entirely-shitty legacy?

Or

B. Utterly fail to read the room & promote the most hated member of his White House staff to a position of even greater authority?

It sounds like some of the first challenges to Trump from the Republican Party are showing up.

He'll hold the White House, but I dunno whether he'll retain a lot of influence in the party's broader direction.

    https://www.axios.com/2026/11/06/rnc-kc-crosbie-joe-gruters-chairman

Scoop: White House furious over surprise challenge to Trump's RNC chair

The White House was blindsided by RNC co-chair KC Crosbie's decision to challenge President Trump's handpicked party chairman, Joe Gruters — a move that has infuriated administration officials days after the GOP's midterm drubbing, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Sitting Republican presidents traditionally choose the RNC chair, making leadership elections little more than a formality. Crosbie is challenging that arrangement — despite owing her own position to Trump.

Trump moved quickly to back Gruters, issuing a lengthy Truth Social endorsement Friday calling on Republicans to support the incumbent chairman.

Driving the news: Crosbie announced her candidacy Thursday in a letter to the RNC's 168 members obtained by Axios. It called for changes to the party following Tuesday's elections, which cost Republicans control of both chambers of Congress.

"Tuesday's results were a serious setback," Crosbie wrote. "We owe ourselves an honest account of why."

She questioned whether the party had adequately addressed voters' concerns, supported its candidates and nominated Republicans capable of winning competitive races.

"I believe the RNC has fallen short of that responsibility, and I hope to see that change," she wrote.

The big picture: Crosbie's call for a change in direction is the first significant challenge to Trump's authority within the Republican Party after the midterms.

It is my strongest hope that MAGA drags the GOP down to hell with it, and they never win an election again.

Miller is the worst kind of white-nationalist/Christian-nationalist. I suspect he's now going to be acting as the de facto president while holding up the Trump sock-puppet from time to time and overseeing (and covering up) Trump's mental and physical decline over the next couple of years. All that while turning the American Fascism knob up to 11. The guy is truly terrifying.

He's one of the main brains of the Trump-era dismantling of democracy and dismantling of the State in general (except for the military of course). I expect that right now he's meeting with Republicans to finalize the plan to refuse to seat all new Democratic Congress-people.

    except for the military

The military is being dismantled though, in terms of competence, leadership, ethics (such as they are), readiness, logistics, morale, and credibility. He is, however, succeeding in massively speeding up the militarization of agencies that are supposed to be law enforcement, because that’s how you build a paramilitary secret police force.

My understanding is that Chief of Staff is actually quite a powerful position, as it is responsible for determining who gets access to the President, which can have quite a lot of indirect control over the direction of presidential policy.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_House_Chief_of_Staff

The chief of staff is the most senior political appointee in the White House. The position is widely recognized as one of great power and influence, owing to daily contact with the president of the United States and control of the Executive Office of the President of the United States.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Miller

Miller's politics have been described as far-right,[1] and anti-immigration.[2][3] Author Jean Guerrero characterized his agenda as white nationalist.[207]

I'm not sure that that's a great move for Trump politically, but...shrugs I guess we'll find out.

Don't know why so many people in this thread are acting so blase about this. People are going to die because of this. Stephen Miller being put in this position will get people killed.

The only 2 likable features of Susan Wiles: 1. Wanted Hegseth to be the fall guy. 2. Not fucking Steven Miller

Instead of being a "grassroots populist neonazi initiative", replacement theory (wrong people having children is an act of war) is a Zionist supremacist movement to protect GOP Zionist ideology through anti-immigration focus. Hating everybody protects Zionist first rule over Republicans/Americans, and is supposed to prevent ethnicities (muslims count more) less devoted to genocide from overwhelming Zionist first christofacism in the long term.

Steven Miller is the hatred ideological leader of GOP who is also at 11 on a 1-10 scale of genocidal Zionist supremacism. Hegseth might be at only 10.8, but Zionism needs a broader tent right now, and that is good enough for full club membership.

WIles may not have helped Trump understand general political reality, but Miller will manipulate the dotard into believing everything Netanyahu/Israel prefers.
