Yeah you're on the proper ban list now. You need to accept you'll basically never be able to use Reddit again.

It would be trivial to circumvent if you took the time to learn about browser fingerprinting, registered a new e-mail, and set up a VPN or something, but why bother at this point? Reddit is getting shittier by the day. I'm close to leaving even without any bans.

I did exactly that. Mullvad VPN which I'd never used before, used mullvad browser via this VPN (also never used before) so create a new proton mail account. Signed up etc. The account was immediately shadowbanned (posts and comments were not visible apart from to myself), and was banned permanently within 2 months even though I only made about 10 inoffensive comments.

    It was not trivial.

That sounds pretty trivial to me but OK. Also VPNs are meaningless if your telemetry is reporting the same browser/machine. Read up on browser fingerprinting and such if you really care that much.

There's also a decent chance that the VPN server(s) you're using already got banned for reasons unrelated to you, something else to consider.

I wonder how they detected you. This will be practice for getting around age verification in the future.

I have no idea. I basically only accessed using that browser / VPN combo, and never used that browser/VPN for anything else. The only link is that to sign up to proton, I needed to use an email address that is linked to me - but proton SAY it's not shared etc.

My feeling is it was just banned for being generally sus (new account, no browser fingerprint, mullvad VPN). No reason was given other than 'breaking terms'.

Edit: I think the only way I could use Reddit would be to buy an account via G2G or something like that

They got so much telemetry that you could show them the inside of your asshole and they would know it was you. And now you know why they require using their app on mobile and Javascript on desktop.

What'd you do to get banned? Once you're banned, it's against their terms of service to create a new account to evade the ban.
