No one could have possibly predicted that Trump’s tariffs and his war on Iran would hit rural America so hard with rising fuel costs, shrinking profits, and bankruptcies.

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" Trump remarked at a campaign stop at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. "It's, like, incredible."

Trump had, however, only considered the political impact of minor actions like murder, not that of more consequential moves, like increasing fuel prices.

A decade ago, when the new world order was established, people like me — the craven, the corrupt, and the clowns — knew we would be taken care of and rewarded. But now the worst possible people are actually losing their elections, and our faith is as shaky as Ken Paxton’s ethics. Dear God, why are bad things happening to bad people?

This country is supposed to be built on specific foundational principles: that all men are created equal, especially if they are born wealthy and white. But the whole system falls apart when an ironworker can unseat a real estate nepo baby.
