Funny how demanding accountability and prosecuting criminals is called a "radical left agenda" lately.

I want Medicare For All passed. I can wait for two years and let Trump be destroyed by state courts.

Let Donnie sit in his ugly office for the next 24 months, I want to get some good laws passed first.

He's going to veto any good laws, though.

You are ignoring a basic Trump fact.

He has zero loyalty to anyone or anything.

Think he wouldn't throw Elon and the whole GOP leadership under the bus tomorrow? If you do, you haven't been paying attention.

If he signs the Medicare For All Bill under the name 'Trump Is The Greatest President Ever Health Care Bill' I have no problem.

I have been paying way more attention than is good for my mental health. Trump will never sign any bill that actually helps regular people because above all he enjoys making people suffer

Also, Senate filibuster hasn't gone anywhere yet. Everything gets better the fewer Republicans we have in Washington DC and the American people seem about as eager to get rid of them as I have ever seen them, so we should seize that momentum if we can.

I certainly hope for the best. And couldn't the Dems now actually abolish the filibuster? But will they have the balls to do it?

I like that the DNC have already added investigator roles to the hiring site, lmao.

I am reserving judgement until next year when this new class of Dems take power and start holding votes.

The last time I remember being excited on election morning was when Obama was elected, and for all his extravagant progressive promises, he doubled down on everything Dubya did and left the US in a much worse and more fascist place after his presidency. And he had a supermajority for the better part of a year and could have accomplished everything he'd set out to do.

So to me, words mean nothing. I hope this class of Dems actually does something positive, but history tells us they'll most likely fill their approximate eight months of work over the next two years with performative hearings in order to raise their own individual profiles and just ignore issues that require actual work to fix.

I honestly hope I'm wrong about all this, though.

left the US in a much worse and more fascist place after his presidency

That's not really true though. During his time, Don't Ask, Don't tell was repealed, Gay Marriage was passed, the Affordable Care Act was passed, and society as a whole shifted quite a bit in the correct direction.

    No.

He laid the foundation for the Donald presidency and later fascism by expanding our two wars to seven (that we know of, it was probably more) and particularly devastated Libya. He supported torture, uninhibited surveillance, expanded drone warfare, and even had a famous 'kill list'. In one incident his drones even killed American citizens abroad. His admin updated how teenagers abroad were classified, calling them 'enemy combatants', so they could pretend they were killing fewer civilians.

The ACA has made health care more expensive, not less, and the fabled 'access' it promises only exists if you can afford to be price gouged. Again, he had a supermajority for a time and could have passed universal health care.

He allowed Occupy to be devastated by the NYPD and let the bankers who destroyed the economy walk instead of imprisoning them as other countries did, vastly expanded the militarization of police (even after Ferguson), and yawned away the increasing frequency of school shootings. Just in the final year of his presidency 20,000 tons of bombs were dropped on foreign countries. He was also the asshole that first appointed another noted fascist, Tom Homan.

The man is a fascist, a war criminal, and objectively enjoyed it as evidenced by his enthusiasm for expanding and escalating foreign wars.

That he was nice to gay people doesn't change any of this.
