I cancelled my amazon prime membership when I realized that almost everything I bought I returned because the quality had gone downhill, it wasn't as advertised, or it was an impulse purchase that I regretted as soon as I had it in my hands.

It's been 3 months and I have no regrets. Apparently I missed prime day... I didn't even notice and don't care.

I was on there this week to look at my previous orders from years ago and find certain items that I knew I had bought some of but seemed to have misplaced. turns out my last order was over 6 months ago, which surprised me — I thought I had ordered more recently for high priority projects where I needed something the next day.

I was also on there for a similar reason looking for some car parts because I wanted to get something done last weekend, but ended up just ordering from somewhere else and substituting a part or two.

but yeah the quality is probably the most effective turn off? like in the past couple years there's definitely been a few scenarios where I thought "oh yeah Amazon would have something for this", and only used that to find the key search terms I should be using elsewhere, because you just know that whatever you buy off Amazon is going to be garbage
