Looks a lot like an owl.

very cool. it was immediately educational.

    a couple notes:

    • it barely runs on my new phone so perhaps some compromises for mobile would be best.
    • still working on absorptive materials besides PEC plane? where are the things that would cast a radiation shadow?

    Thanks!

Well that’s disappointing, i really tried optimizing it and it worked well on the few devices I tested (I have an iPhone 13 Pro that handles it well). I will see what I can do to make it more smooth.

And yes I am working on adding different kind of pec obstacles, dialectic materials and ohmic conductive materials.

The challenge is to keep the solver cheap while preserving reasonable accuracy.

May I ask what phone do you have ?

    Thanks for the feedback:)

    Oo, cool!

I don't know enough to edit and make more antennas. But suggestions for more defaults / things I have questions about:

    • Moxon antenna
    • Slim Jim antenna
    • Dipole with ends draped down, folded; inverted V, etc — if there were an easy way to bend the antennas that'd be fun
    • Different materials nearby: chunk of metal, your head, ground plane at different heights
    • Vertical with and without ground radials

    Thanks!

I really should add folded dipole, moxon and slim Jim antennas. That shouldn’t be too complicated (under thin pec wire approx)

Adding ground plane at different heights is also a great idea that would not be difficult to add.

About adding different materials, I am not sure what’s the best way to let the user set their geometry without turning this into a full 3D engine. (I might in the future)
