I don't bike, I mostly drive and walk. And even I understand that cars are terrible for cities and people. It makes livable spaces worse, more dangerous, noisier and increase polution.

Severly punish reckless driving, reduce cost of public transport. Encourage people to walk by supporting local businesses, encourage people to bike by protecting those who chose to bike.

Sorry scratch all of the above cars, gaz, car insurance so so good. Yes.

Dougy is funneling 48 million to his developer friends and using the Toronto Police to do it!

How can the length of two intersections of painted lines costs 48 million? And how can the city allow critical infrastructure be removed without city approvals?!

Not to mention this a lose-lose for everyone.

    1. Business lose all day dedicated parking.
    2. Drivers lose dedicated left and right turn lanes.
    3. Pedestrian lose wider protected sidewalks and safer streets.
    4. Bikers or all ages lose safe separation from heavy motor vehicles.

Now instead we get two lanes, and vehicles will need to keep weaving between the left and right lane like maniacs to dodge people making right /left turns, just to get to the next red light a few seconds quicker. Not to mention, during street parking windows parked cars will constantly be blocking the "second lane" causing people in vehicles to keep weaving.

Overall this makes the street more stressful for everyone. Not to mention the stress of a person on a bicycle now constantly needing to feel like ther life is at risk, because the only place they can cycle is in the center of open lane (which they have full legal right to do so, they pay taxes same as anyone else).

Not mentioning a cyclist (even on a pedel assist electric bicycle) can only get to a maximum of just under 25km/h, and that's only if they are really "pushing" hard. Most times I know I just want to go on a relaxed cycle and can only get somewjere between 15-20km/h.
