"Billionaire to put his money forward for extremely profitable venture that everyone pays for"

Whenever I see an article about small modular nuclear reactors I like to ask three questions:
- Where in the world (outside of a lab) is there a functioning small modular nuclear reactor providing energy for a real town?
- When did nuclear waste become "clean"?
- Where will this "clean" nuclear waste be dumped?
This article says the fleet is 4.2GW, so I guess they're working on a home needing about 500W to get 8 million.
UK planning bureaucracy has entered the chat
that planning bureaucracy is what keeps water in homes drinkable.
See: the shitshow happening in the US without that bureaucracy
Nope that's just called planning.
The bureaucracy is the bit where this never gets built in the UK. 😉
The reason why useful things like wind turbines don't get built is that a bunch of moany conservative NIMBYers say "I mEaN, iTs An EyEsOrE" while voting for the people that grant permission for Toxic Waste Inc to dump whatever they want in the area they don't live , free of the same scrutiny the wind turbines get, since the politician went to school with the majority shareholder of Toxic Waste Inc
