So the kidnapping happened in Utah, they were found in Oregon, but the kidnapper is being tried in Idaho? Where does Idaho fit into the crime?

Ontario, OR, where the kidnapper was arrested, is right on the idaho border. I dunno exactly why it's being tried in boise but maybe he's still listed as resident there or some such?

Northeast OR is basically idaho, culturally and politically, it's likely he had some kinda connections that stretched across the border.

Much like ivy, etc. in public wildernesses, NE Oregon's bigoted "culture" is an invasive, parasitic blight that has (so far) defied effective, impactful cleanup efforts. 🫤
