Yeah, I relapsed and this time after like around a week.

But I found the issue isn't drinking itself but thinking about drinking after a bad day.

This is what caused me to give in because my PTO is ending and I'm gonna have to go back to work. My contractor work I will be losing soon as the company done fucked it up.

But this is a bad habit. I cannot keep doing this. Yet I don't know how exactly to get over thr tempting thought of, "You had a bad day, dude. Don't you deserve a drink?"

My experience is with stopping drinking soda, not alcohol, so not quite the same. What helped me is just to reiterate all the bad effects it had on me, like acid reflux, teeth hurting, sugar crash an hour later and long term health effects. When I wanted to "reward" myself after surviving a sucky day, I would remind myself that it is not a reward, it is hurtful and leads to me feeling more sucky in the long term. And I deserve better than that.
