Wonder how many sternly written letters they will send out? Some might even contain a few choice curse words such as "damn" and "hell"

Hey I don't have much faith in Schumer or Jeffries to do what needs to be done, but there are some really good ranking members on some important committees who are already gearing up for the road ahead.

It's all detailed in the article if you care to read it.

Hey, I understand the sentiment. I do. But we're seeing, right now, the most decisive win the left has had in a very long time. It's okay to be optimistic, just for a little while. Honestly, it's getting very tiring having the first thing I see on almost all topics about this be something negative. Just be happy we got to where we are, and leave the negativity on hold for if it turns out to be warranted. It isn't solving any problems now, and it's just bad for everyone's mental state.

Your mistake is on believing the Dems are The Left. They're center right.

They're also beholden to the same donors as the GOP, so the comment you're replying to is far more grounded in reality than your optimism about the Dems actually doing anything at all except continuing the process of wealth transfer from the working class to the investor/donor class.

Your mistake is forgetting just how much ground the progressives claimed this week.

I'm old enough to remember that a windfall like this hasn't happened before. At least not since FDR's time.

You're free to continue being bitter and cynical, but kindly keep that stink away from me. The grownups are busy celebrating.

So you're not old enough to remember the Obama administration then. Cool. Bye, kiddo.

Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel like a big boi 🙄

Remind me how many progressives were in Congress when Obama got elected? Since your memory is so superior to mine, you know...

"progressive" is a meaningless marketing term intended to fool Leftists into voting for Liberals.

There were actually more Democrats in the House and Senate than have actually been certified so far in this Blue Wave, and (briefly) a filibuster proof Supermajority in the Senate.

And just like we'll see them do again over the next two years, they whined and hid behind procedure and started all negotiations with the GOP from an already compromised position and generally helped the country continue slouching rightward so efficiently that a naked fascist started getting traction in the next GOP primary.

Lol, ShitLibs are always convinced their idealism will pan out this time. It'd be funny if the rest of us didn't have to live with the consequences of your inaction.

I'll swing back by in 6 mths to a year, once the exceedingly likely has become exceedingly obvious, to give you your Fell For It Again Award.

Go on, back to St. Petersburg. Off with you!

I hope you have plenty of thick socks. It's looking like it'll be a bitter cold winter for you.

"Anyone who questions my precious narratives (that I take from billionaire owned media and a center-right political party) is obviously a dirty foreigner" and other fairy tales Liberals tell themselves to explain why reality keeps running counter to their belief system

Weak. That one is so overplayed. I guess now that so many of your data centers have been destroyed you can't come up with any new zingers? Sad.

Remember to wiggle your toes so you don't get frostbite!

Sure we are happy, but not naive. This buzz should wear off quick because there is a lot of hard work to fix things. It could take decades to undue what has already been done and then we have a lot of work from there.

I thought people would be happy here but Lemmy is basically identical to reddit- full of miserable weirdos who are perpetually negative about anything and everything.
