The idea sounds good, but it's considerably thicker than a Sony X Compact from 2016, and it doesn't have a headphone jack (the Sony did). I use the headphone jack.

I've been begging for thicker phones for years

    For battery capacity, or ergonomics?

Both? Plus getting a flat back. Just in general it makes more room for things.

Whatever you want? Battery? Processor? Cooling/vapor chamber? headphone jack? etc. etc.

It's like with laptops. Apple is obsessed with thin laptops but really I don't want to thin laptop I want to laptop I can use to beat people to death with so that it's repairable and actually contains standard issue components rather than miniaturized custom things I won't be able to source when it inevitably breaks.

If you're going to have a camera bump you might as well just flatten out the back and give yourself more battery space.

A Sony compact from 2016 didn't have to house today's hardware.

Any phone today is larger and thicker than my Samsung S4 from 2014. Any phone today would also outperform it by orders of magnitude.

This Enough phone doesn't look any thicker than many phones today.

Unfortunately a headphone jack is required by a small subset of users, just like small phones. So wanting a small phone and a headphone jack is an even smaller subset of users.

Though I think Unihertz does headphone jacks even on their Jelly phones.

Unihertz also understands that phone width is a bigger issue than thickness (they probably have some ratio they've determined works). I can't reach across my Pixel 5 one-handed.

Edit: from their own website, the Enough phone is less than 12mm thick. That's on the thicker side, but not world-ending thick.

What? How old is that peripheral that jacks in?! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

    Hol'up. You use an β…›-ΒΌ" adaptor, don't you. πŸ˜‹ ^(link^ ^for^ ^the^ ^youngins)^

(edit: it was meant in jest, no judgment, my apologies)

What? How old is that peripheral that jacks in?!

I have used all of the following this year:

    • Circumaural headphones: new (this year)
    • IEM headphones: 2019? 2020?
    • Aux ports in various rental and relatives' cars: various
    • Professional audio console to play a file for a room full of people because I was the only one with a phone with a headphone jack: doesn't matter - it will have analog inputs whether it's brand new or 50 years old
    • Tape adapter in an old van: probably as old as the van (2002)

You use an β…›-ΒΌ" adaptor, don’t you.

I believe that was involved for one of the above items.
