The Catholic church (not sure about other denominations) literally teach that god has no gender : https://uscatholic.org/articles/202303/does-god-have-a-gender/

    Talarico actually explained why he said that just before he said it, and it was for similar reasons. The original texts used gendered words to refer to God. Sometimes, they used feminine words, and sometimes masculine words.
