Every eligible voter who decided that not voting was better than voting for Harris has blood on their hands too.

Non-voters lack deductive reasoning. They fail to understand that if Harris doesn't win, Trump wins. They can't grasp that eliminating one option leaves only the alternative.

Perhaps if they banded together, they could get support for a third candidate. It would be difficult but I suppose trying would have been better than refusing to vote against fascism.

They don't like the rules of the game, so they refused to play

The left has been usurped by adolescent culture warriors who don't give a shit about anything except being outraged about their flavor of the month identities not being taken seriously. It's vile, it doesn't belong to us, they just latched on and now we can't get rid of them. If I was conspiratorial I'd say it's a psyop because they've done nothing but harm to the real left, to the workers, to the proletariat, to actual humanitarian change, it's all performative purity testing bullshit.

It's like a little club they made for themselves, more like being part of a band fanclub or console fanboys than having anything to do with actual politics and creating an equitable society for all. It's fucking ridiculous.

We've been through this. It was centrist pushing genocide that lost the election. You keep putting out this fascist trope.

The more dumb things Trump does the dumber this argument becomes.

Uh no. But just please stay out of elections or politics so we don't lose again. Just take the back seat and let those of us who are capable of winning elections lead. We'll carry you, in-spite of your insistence that you damage everyone through your behavior.

You aren’t capable of doing the math on a 2 party, 1st past the post election but you’re “capable of winning elections” and you’re gonna “carry” folks? Get the fuck out of here with that delusional bullshit.

I didn’t lose shit. I’m not a rah-rah DNC supporter and I didn’t have shit to do with all the brain dead decisions by the DNC that helped get us to this point. You don’t know me and you can fuck right off with that noise.

Once we have a choice between center right, status quo candidate and far right, authoritarian, racist, rapist, felonious, pedophile, the choice is clear to anyone who isn’t a toddler throwing a tantrum. I hate that the DNC refused to take a moral stand against Palestinean genocide but I’d bet everything I own that there would be more Palestineans alive today under President Harris. Do you think we are better off now that one of our few unequivically anti genocide representatives is being threatend with deportation?

The world is a terrible messy moral minefield and the US political system is absolute shit but reasonable, responsible adults accept reality and try to navigate towards the best possible outcomes. Stop acting like a sullen child. I hope you don’t live in a swing state.

There was one path to stopping Trump when voters made it impeccably clear that they wouldn't vote for a pro-genocide candidate in the primaries.

And there was one path to stopping Trump once it was clear that the only opposition party was too dumb or corrupt to run an anti genocide candidate.

You donʻt get to dictate how voters behave. No politician or campaign or commenter gets to decide this.

True. I never claimed otherwise. You also don’t get to change the way elections or math or reality work just by yelling at straw men on the internet. But here we are.

You not understanding how voters behave, or not approving of their behavior has no fucking bearing whatsoever.

I can understand how people behave and still get trolled into an argument when one if them says something wildly delusional. My approval doesn’t matter yet you chose to rant and rail at me.🤷🏾

You having contempt for voters because you soft-supported a genocide doesnʻt change that.

Yeah. So we got presented with a real life trolley problem where we can choose between slow moving genocide that we have some hope of slowing or stopping or turbo ultra bullet train genocide with a chance of extra foreign and domestic genocide on the side. As much as I hate being called a “soft supporter” of genocide, I fail to see how inaction, leading to an inevitable turbo genocide, is somehow the moral high ground.

I’d bet everything I own that there would be more Palestineans alive today under President Harris. THE GENOCIDE LITERALLY HAPPENED UNDER BIDEN AND FUCKING HARRIS!!! THIS ISN'T A FUCKING THOUGHT EXPERIMENT!!! ITS WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED!!! Where and when do I get to take possession of everything you own?

Can you read? Are there more Palestinians alive today than there would be in a hypothetical Harris administration? I never claimed that there was no genocide under Biden or that it would magically disappear under Harris. And my claim was absolutely a thought experiment since it is comparing our present timeline with an unknowable hypothetical parallel timeline. But my bad, obviously proposing a thought experiment to this audience was a fool’s errand.

If Trump and Harris were threatening the same genocide, but Trump had more targets than just Palestine, wouldn't Harris be the harm reduction choice?

The reality we have is that Democrats threw a very winnable election to fascists because they couldnt oppose a genocide.

No one is denying that. Trump being in power is the fault of both Democrats and non-voters.

But guess which of the two categories has been harmed more by the result? I don’t see Kamala begging on the street because she can’t afford groceries. They never really had anything to lose.

All of mainstream media and half of lemmy is still denying this. Look around this thread.

They never really had anything to lose.

Which is why I think Biden at least, half his cabinet, and potentially Harris should be arrested for the war crime of funding a genocide

Link me to a single comment in this post saying Harris was awesome and that she did the best she could to win. They’re all saying she was far from perfect, or even from a good candidate, but voting her was still the correct choice.

Ok, cool, no issues with that. Who’s gonna do it when we have other politicians doing that in addition to… literally this article for example, and they’re still governing with no repercussions?

  • And its funny because when we do that, Blue Maggots, because they can’t argue with the reality of what voters chose to do, have to pivot to personal attacks.

Absolutely, funny how you remove genocide from Trump's title he's been rather enthusiastic about it.

And sure you can call a district attorney a cop if you want to, but what do you call the man that's set up his own secret police force to brutalize the populace?
