Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, necromantic sci-fantasy. About 2/3 of the way through, and I am pleasantly surprised and really enjoying it.
Saw it on recommendation lists several years ago, and, honestly, expected boring YA with annoying characters. I mean, Gideon is cringe, and Harrow is a bitch, but it's tolerable and does not get in a way of the story.
